the name and tags fit well, as i could definitely see this in a banjo kazooie game. if only they made more... at least there's yooka laylee
I wrote the main melody for this piece in my jazz-reharm class when (according to my tutor) I should've been intensely studying chord substitutions, instead I sat at the piano and wrote this little ditty, the melody stuck with me for the rest of the day so I wanted to get it down into a song.
There's lots of odd harmony in this one that is so often used in this sort of style, similar synth sounds making a return from some of my earlier tracks.
My favourite part is the mid-section, it feels so calm but keeps this crazy, almost circus like feel with the 6/8 time and the odd harmony. I also like the melody being 14 bars long and the percussion being mostly sampled from old keyboards that probably don't get much love anymore in modern productions.
I've learnt a lot about instrumentation and keeping a melody going without it being in the forefront whilst writing and producing this song, hope that sticks with me for future stuff.
Hope you enjoy - <3

Thanks! I'm excited to go back to play the games as an adult so I can focus almost entirely on the soundtrack the whole time aha, thank you for reviewing :D
The main beat can get a little repetitive, but the small sound effects every now and then make up for it. Great work! :D
Hey man, thanks! I focused in a lot on repetition with the idea of getting the theme into peoples heads, I think you're right in that I took that idea a little too far, that's something I'll be more aware of from now on when I work on something new, cheers again for the feedback, it means a lot ^^
