It's the day before the release of the new game, Sonic Forces, and the hype is real. So allow me to set the mood!

This here is my second installment of Hydrocity, my other one being made in 2006. A little change-up of the drums from the usual. I wanted something a little more unique. Let's face it, the original is so popular, it's one of the franchise's greatest hits I'd say, so the challenge was finding ways for this to stand out. Everything just seemed to flow together once things got going, the transitions being the hardest part of it all. The whole point was making it flow like water.

This took a lot longer than planned. I was focused. I wanted every detail to be as perfect as possible. It actually became grueling at times. But you learn things every time. Skills grow. I'm hoping that all my hard work pays off in the form of your enjoyment.

Thanks for the listen! Feel free to give it a download and an honest vote/review. And hey, happy gaming!

Head above the water
We've been washed out here forever
As long as you and I remember
That we will always be together
We'll make it through tomorrow

I must say, this version of Hydrocity is really neat! I love the fact that you even added in lyrics and a nice slow style beat to it. I love remixes like this, and yours really sold it to me. It sounded original while also sounding like Hydrocity. My only gripe about it is the drums. I would suggest getting something just a little clearer, the samples you use sound very static-y and overall just slightly ruins the piece. However, the rest of the track sounds awesome, especially the little seagulls and ocean sounds. 4/5 From me. Came from: R4R.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Hey thank you very much for that! My objective every time is to remain similar while also unique. I did have a slight problem with the drums, but its not just the drums, it's distortion balance, all throughout. Truth is, I'm using a program so retro (Cakewalk Kinetic 1, 2004) that some controls are super sensitive an d registration is very differential. For instance, in order to make everything balance with the rest of the song, the drums you hear here are at 52% Distortion Gain. At 53% it was way too overwhelming, but at 51% you'd get no bass whatsoever. Its odd. I am still trying to learn how to balance it out. Perhaps there's some detail I'm overlooking.

Thank you again for an honest review! I'm definitely taking this to the future
