ah this melody is gorgeous. composition is spot-on!
Really chill melody and ambiance mixed with some epic orchestral stuff (and also melodic dubstep drop lol). I tried to make a real bass drop but didn't have time. Note that the orchestral percussion before the drops is actually a drum loop from Cinematics impact vol2 by Primeloops
Took me like 45 hours to make
Chill/mythological song inspired by the Greek sirens. In case you don't know, Lyra is a lyre-shaped (an instrument kinda like a harp) constellation in the sky.
EDIT: I improved the snare

Ye the melody was kinda good but thats the only good thing lol
Oooh! I like this one! That's not a compliment I give easily.
I love how this starts out. It's very empty at first without any supporting chords. It's just the listener, the instrument, and reverb. Unlike TaintedLogic, I don't think you overdid the reverb at all, but I'm definitely a sucker for reverb. The Dorian mode is also a really nice touch, and really sets the feel of the song. The chords and ambience come in, and they really start to tell a story. I'm really impressed by the beginning of this song. In my eyes, it's pretty much perfect.
At 0:28 a new feel and a new melody are introduced. While it's not a bad thing to have different feels throughout a song, I would have liked the first one go on a tiny bit longer. I'm also not a huge fan of the lead here, as it feels like it's trying to be orchestral but it has a very synthetic sound to it. The melody isn't my favorite either, but everyone has different tastes, and I'll blame my tastes for that one. I like the pluck/snares here. It's organic enough that I think it fits the mood really well.
At 0:57 the great feel and melodies come back. There's more orchestral, melodic and of background content, which I think you did really well. The atmosphere here and at the beginning are really strong. I think these spots are really where you shine through from my perspective, so look back on these for reference.
Almost everything at 1:10 changes to an electronic instrument. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but a smoother transition would have been nice. I can see why everyone is criticizing the snare. It's not too terrible, but I'm not a fan.
The drop is okay. It's not anything special, but it's not awful either. I think the melodic drop fits well with the style you've chosen for most of this piece. The drop could have been a lot more energetic, especially the lower end. The bass should have a little bit more behind it and the kick should cut through the mix a bit more in my opinion.
Throughout the rest of the piece you kept everything mostly the same, with a change here and there. You had a lot of great moments in this song, and I really can't wait to see where you go. Keep up the great work, Pianore!
8/10
Wow, that is a big comment! Some of the criticisms you said are really true, such as the snare, the drop and the transitions. However, I personally love the melody at 0:28 and I think that the synth I used there fits really well with the song. It is a matter of personal flavor so I won't blame you for not liking that part. Anyways, thanks for the detailed review!
Woooooooooooow.
I felt really good while listening to it.
I would say what everybody said about snare, but that's not the thing I hate the most. The only thing I dont like about this is the drop. Too melodic for me, you should pay more attention on the dubstep part of the song, by making the drop stronger and heavier someways, like in your remix of FreeFall.
But hey, this is awesome.
Props dude, TBH I just hate this drop, I don't even like one second of the drop. The reason why I made melodic dubstep is that I was in a hurry to finish this song for the contest. I'm making a VIP version of this song (in which almost everything is identical to this one but the drop will be replaced by a bass drop that is beyond heavy)! Yeah the snare is just bad, although I improved it a little, it is still bad, I'll probably improve it more(but it is still gonna be bad, less bad tho)
I like the soothing mood at the beginning. You may have overdone the reverb a bit, but the instrumentation was great, especially the strings and percussion. The melodic content at :58 is great, too. I was a little thrown off by the entry of the drums at around 1:10, though - they just didn’t fit the character of the piece so far very well IMO. The snare sounds especially generic, processed, and maybe too loud as well. The percussion at around 2:45 fits the rest of the sound design much better. Still, you’ve absolutely nailed the atmosphere, and the victorious/blissful mood was rather enjoyable as well. I love the little phrasing detail at 3:37, too, and the trumpet solo at the very end was a great touch. Overall, this is a very strong piece, both compositionally and mixing-wise. Keep up the great work, PianoreGD! ;)

Wow that was beyond my expectations! I thought I failed this song lol. I strong agree with the fact that the snare is really bad, next time I will probably make a new snare that sounds not too distorted!
That snare though, full stereo separated and sounds like it's clipping. Sub is also quiet compared to the powerful lead, but overall quite the ride. The outro was beautiful.
Yeah that is probably the shittiest snare that I've ever made
