How nice.

Oh well, here's some random track I've been working on. Notice how empty the drop is? Yeah, I notice it myself. I literally don't know how to make it any better. I've tried arps, chords, anything that might sound good with it but I draw blanks. If you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know. I usually get helpful reviews, and believe me, I'm begging for it.

Sorry if the sub bass is a little painful. I used Serum to make it, and that was probably a mistake.

I also lowered the master volume this time, so now you shouldn't have to worry about the song blasting into your ears..

If at all you could take some time to review this, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

Hello! and lets get started!

Your volume levels are too high. I suggest experimenting with your sound levels. The drum patterns are nice but I agree with the first comment the song is really bland when it comes to melodic progression and that synth sound can get tiring what I would do is try adding different instruments, Like Piano or Pads etc. The Drop could use work(however I do like the sound around 01:08).

Final thoughts?

When you do work on your drop try to give it some variety. I recommend studying a couple of dubstep songs. Don't be afraid to add more instruments to your song.( as long as they compliment each other) Also when in doubt YouTube that Sh*t.

BlueAlpha14 responds:

Not trying to make excuses, but FL Studio volume levels versus rendered volume levels seem to be very different. Been trying to fix that.

I spent so much time working on the main bass and instead people like the 1:08 sound. I altered a preset and the LFO pattern lol.

Yeah, I guess you're right about the adding more instruments on the drop. I kinda suck at composition ://///////

Thanks for the detailed review.

Don't worry my dubstep song [Forever Us] Sounds really bad compared to this. This isn't that bad, just keep trying:)

BlueAlpha14 responds:

Thanks. Hopefully I can find out how to make it better.

I liked the drum progression and the bass growl sounded pretty good but most of the song is just a single instrument and drums. I would try layering multiple instruments together and adding a bit more melodic progression.

However, there still is potential.
(^-^)

BlueAlpha14 responds:

I don't even know what I did when I made that bass, it just sort of happened lol.

Here's the thing: I know the intro and drop lack a lot of melodic progression, but the problem is I don't know how to fix that. I've tried a few things and they don't compliment eachother very well. I've been drawing blanks, basically.

Thanks for the review, I know I can always count on you.
