its gonna take alot to drag me away from this song
Wazzuuuuuuup e'rybudday! Ceevro in da hiz-ouse!
...And I'll stop that now. I gotta say, though, this project was MASSIVE! I think we managed to push Step's processing power to the limit, and my own brain-processing power much, much past. All you crazy mix of unique artists really brought so much to the table here, I am truly humbled to be one of the voices, and a single guitar, buried somewhere in this mix. In fact, for the first time, I found myself not needing to provide a single thing after the initial framework!
I am completely awed and inspired by the teamwork shown putting this thing together. Once again, guys, you have all outdone yourselves!
For those of you wishing you had jumped onto the bandwagon while we were making this; Fear thee not! Ceevro's Singalong Collab #5 is currently up and running in the Audio Forum! This time around, we will be doing Give A Little Bit, by Supertramp! If you can sing and play, we want YOU!!! Come visit us!

This is a singalong cover of Toto's awesome song Africa, and a HUGE one at that. We have over 50 tracks, 22 of which are vocals. We've got everything from vocals and vocal harmonies to multiple guitars (including two bass guitars) to three drum kits.
Special shoutout to Sleeper256, who not only sent twelve vocal tracks, but even recorded percussion using everything but percussion instruments. He recorded pots, tupperware/storage boxes, and even oatmeal packets for shakers (which he aptly named Quaker Shakers).
Another special thanks goes to MetalRenard for the amazing master he pulled off! On my end, I was the one who did the syncing, tuning and general mixing to bring all the different parts together.
This was a huge amount of effort, work and passion from everyone involved, and my personal favourite singalong by a long shot. Enjoy!

LYRICS
I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's coming in, 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you"
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Yeah, I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
its gonna take alot to drag me away from this song
