specifically, LAWS OF PHYSICS! I would never condone illegal lawbreaking. Fortunately, there's nothing in the legal code about breaking conservation of energy.

Anyway, this is a tune I wrote for my Ludum Dare game, which (the game) is embarrassingly stupid. It was written in 2 hours during the compo under extreme duress (read: exhausted and sleep deprived :P)

I kept on wasting my time tweaking it even though it was pretty much done, so I figured I'd render it out here to keep me honest.

I think it's alright!

Nice

Another nice track here this one has video game sound and really has some nice quality sound about it There are some things that really stand out here I and others have perceived this piece as some good sounds I like what I am hearing sofar, some parts of this are Immeasurable and I have never been that much for songs like this so I can't give it a full review but this was a Great song otherwise

~X~

I love the rapid, flowy arpeggios at the beginning. The bass is roaring (which probably means it's too loud)! Otherwise, really catchy stuff. Classic Johnfn-style track, melodramatic crashes and all. ;) This is well-structured, smooth-flowing, and overall a really fun track. I thought you did a good job of making it coherent, yet with enough variety to keep my attention. It loops really well, and I loved how the synth roll starts at 2:45 and finishes at :02! ^_^ Your tracks seem simple on the surface, yet have this really complex and full-sounding texture to them that's just delicious! I love it! Keep up the inspiring work, Johnfn. ;D

johnfn responds:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO LOUD BASS THEDOOR. Unless it makes the drums quieter, then it's probably too loud, I GUESS.

Well whatever. I'm still glad you liked it :P

I think it's more than alright :)
I can hear that it's made in a bit of a hurry, not because it'd be bad or anything, but because this is really playing it safe; it's pretty much as johnfny as it gets XD
But I like it, and what's a bit unusual is that this is a loop, and a good one at that!
I'll make sure to play the game too :D

johnfn responds:

Haha yeah it is playing it safe admittedly! The only thing that is different at all is the faster tempo, I think. Oh, and the rhythms, they were pretty unique for me. Though when I think "johnfn-style" this type of song doesn't really come to mind. (I don't actually know what johnfn-style even is...)

My game is REALLY bad lol... I kinda ran out of time. :P

That absolutely perfect loop though.

Teensy little nitpicks: the snare felt a bit stand-outy, the high-pitched arp that came in at 0:27 seemed a bit cliché, automation at 1:45 was too sudden, and because of the synth bling bling bling at the end, the non-looped beginning sounds a bit dissonant (although when you loop back into it, it's still perfect).

But seriously, this is such an awesome little loop. Great job. Are you going to be uploading your Ludum Dare game to NG?

johnfn responds:

Arps? Cliche??? That's like saying that sound waves are cliche! That's like saying that basslines are cliche! That's like saying...

Nevermind. Anyways, thanks for the review. My game is really bad but I might post a link to it in a news post sometime, or something.
