Just a track I made inspired by my most highly anticipated game right now. This is definitely a huge deviation from things I've made in the past. It turned out better than I thought it would tbh but still of course is amateurish

Hm... This is beautiful, in an odd and indescribable kind of way.

Nice start! I really like the sound of the pads and I also like these "epic" 1-6 progressions. I think the beat is a bit to rough here. This could have been a nice relaxing ambient piece but the beat destroyed the atmosphere a bit. Also I think it is a bit repitative. Maybe if you would put a beat which is a bit more "soft" and add some variation to it the piece would be a bit more conclusive. The end of the track catches again this mellow feeling from the beginning. Nothing to say about the production. Everything is mixed quite well (except the drums, which are too loud) and the master is very clear. One last thing: Maybe I get it wrong but I wouldn´t put this one into "New Wave" ;) New wave for me is the late 70s to 80s post punk movement. But maybe things have changed today...

Lethal-Input responds:

Yeah I feel like a soft beat would have been better too, but eh. Oh and I had no idea how to really classify this song so it did feel like a stretch purring it in to New Wave. I'm not even familiar with New Wave stuff so I really had no idea lol I just went with anything.

I like it, fits perfectly with a game, even I hadn't read the description and I was starting to think that the song fits with a game xD Great song mate!

Lethal-Input responds:

Ayyy that games aboutta be too good tho

Nice. I can't wait for No Man's Sky as well! The OST is gonna be epic. This does a great job of capturing what we've heard of it so far!

Lethal-Input responds:

Yeah that game looks too amazing right?? The soundtrack for the game is also going to be procedurally generated (so basically each planet will have it's own unique audio). The musical assets used for the generator will be little broken down bits of the album that 65days is working on for the game. Pretty neat stuff.

Glad you liked it!

If you would make it a little housier with a 4/4 beat or something this could be a real banger! your chord progression is nice and this 1/8th note chordssound you used on top of it really sounds like the sky was pink by nathan fake. I really like it. the mixing didn't really hit the nail on the head in my opinion but I guess we would disagree on principle there. It's not that you have done some things wrong more like you went down another path I would have. But still I like it a lot!

4.5/5

Lethal-Input responds:

Yeah I also think the mix is off a bit. I listened to that "the sky is pink song" and I surprisingly liked it a lot! I wonder if you expected a 4/4 beat from this because of the song it reminded you of though ;). I usually do that type of beat, but I had heavy inspiration from 65daysofstatic's "Debutante", which also happens to remind me of the song you mentioned. Honestly if I were to remake this song, I feel like I'd try a different take on the mix. Thanks for the response!
