Wow...I think I have been gone for a little while XD

I made this song with a story in mind. A hero who faces the depths of his inner self and emerges with strength and resolve.

Why is this song titled "Salt, Water, and Iron"? Well, it has several meanings, but one of those meanings is that they make up a part of who we are, whether we recognize that or not. Sometimes, we see a part of ourselves and not think much of it, but we tend to forget that we would not be who we are without those things. That's just one meaning lol!

Anyway, comments, suggestions, and feedback are always welcomed! Thank you for reading and listening, and I will catch you guys around on Newgrounds. Peace~

~X~

I like the emotion and instruments. It's a little simple at times, but I like the transition at :54 and the percussion. The harmonies at 1:19 were a little strange, and the beat at 1:28 felt a little out-of-place, but I liked the guitar at 1:57. It helped set up the rest of the piece and made sure that the piece was taking a definitive direction as a whole. Overall, it's pretty good. I definitely like the structure and transitions, to say the least. ^^ Good luck at NGADM! ;)

Hi! Thank you for the review :) I appreciate it. One of my initial concerns was if the beat at 1:28 would have felt random, but I went in that direction because I didn't want to introduce that beat in the last section of the song; I wanted to introduce it earlier, and that spot at 1:28 was the best spot for me personally. However, if you had an issue with that spot, others may have issue with it as well. Again, thank you for the review! I will work harder. Good luck to you too! :D

Not too bad. I think this track was at it's strongest when the electronic elements were more prevalent like at 1:54. I thought the atmosphere was especially good at 1:30 and 1:54. Unfortunately I can't get a feel for the piano melody at all and it's slightly 'out-of-time'-ish quality hurts the track a lot. Keep at it though. I think this is one you will look back at later and think 'I could've done that way better.'

geniebmusic responds:

Hi there! Thank you for the constructive criticism. I truly appreciate it :) I will work harder for sure. If you will, could you PM me and describe the "out-of-time" quality for me? That was an issue I had before and I thought I had done a better job here (but I obviously didn't LOL!) Again, thank you!

Very good. Catchy even! Keep up the good work.

geniebmusic responds:

Thank you very much! I will work harder for sure.
