I've been practicing my chords lately. The synthwave song from earlier using various 9th-s and add2-s and now this. I remember being almost afraid of making lo-fi, because you kinda need to have interesting chords, or else the song gets boring quickly. Now I feel a bit more confident, but still, the genre of lo-fi largely remains foreign to me :D

Also featuring my dad on the guitar once again!

sounds like I'm playing mega drive at 3 a.m.

nice track!!!

Don't listen to stuff like this too often so it's a pleasant surprise when I find a song like this. Amazing stuff!

Very nice chords! They occupy the perfect spot between complexity and simplicity. The progression feels dreamy, and there are some very pleasant undertones of nostalgia. The whole song has a blissful, almost optimistic feel to it. The lofi music I listen to tends to have more melancholy feelings, so this song feels refreshing in comparison. Great use of chiptune synths as well.

Great use of lo-fi elements like record crackle and bitcrush filters. The saxophone and guitar solos are a very nice break in the song. They are mixed a little on the louder side but they do not steal attention away from the other parts of your song. I like the percussion a lot, it has some swing and some punch to it without feeling oppressive.

I feel like your chord and your lead synths are a little too bright for what is meant to be a relaxing lo-fi song. Using a low-pass filter or an EQ to cut some of the higher frequencies on your synths could help them blend in better without getting lost in the mix.

Very nice song overall. Tell your dad he is great on guitar!

Oh wow I don't think I've ever seen this much text in one review lol

Anyway thanks! I usually don't compose this kind of music, so seeing it perform well is surprising, but in a good way.

I tend to make more EDM-y stuff, so I'm used to boosting the highs a bit. Lo-fi does the exact opposite, so I have probably under-done the low pass a bit.
Another thing EDM production has taught me that I mostly want to keep the volume levels consistent, but I guess that doesn't apply to other genres ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the review!
