...

It's not often I listen to a tune from newgrounds and am rendered speechless. Come to think of it, it's not often I listen to anything from anywhere and am rendered speechless.

Songs pretty much always have room for improvement, but this is one of the few where I think, you don't need to improve it, I don't need to hear a bigger climax, or a better melody, I've already hit the top of the entertainment factor listening to it.

This piece deserves medals!

A beautiful image

Crunching through the thick snow, I come to a sudden halt atop a gently sloping ridge. I look out over a landscape unlike that I have ever seen before. A massive dark blue lake stretches out over the horizon, surrounded on all sides by intricate cliffs and columns of ice. Blue crystal structures that fade into pure white surfaces, sparkle in the glow of the aurora which lights the starry sky above. The river beside me cascades down into the lake, kicking up a cloud of mist with a rhythmic beating of the placid surface. The light dances its distorted reflection off the water, as if enticing its heavenly sister to leave her perch and join. I close my eyes and feel the frigid air caress my face. This place, I feel so peaceful here. My cloak flaps in the breeze and I draw my shawl in tighter. For the first time since I care to remember, a gentle smile spreads across my face.

I absolutely love this song. One of the greatest I have heard on this site. My only negative feeling is that there are only ten stars I can give it.

Amazing!

I can't think of a description better than the one that Wolven came up with but your songs always make me envision scenarios. I'm damn sure that you could take all your pieces of music and put them into a movie, and I would watch that movie whether it was good or not because your songs move me and my imaginative part. I wish that I could sing as well as I used to, but with not much professional practice and puberty, my voice has wrecked. Amazing song though!

Birth

Silken, soft drops of water fall from stalactites in shimmering lines, rippling sound throughout the cave. A chill wind blows, winding through holes in the ice, birthing fluttering eyelids to open and reveal blue orbs which shine with life. Flesh touches cool frost, pushing upwards to stand in the cavern of cascading light. Near silence is broken by a soft gasp as the orbs reflect against ice. The self is aware.

MaestroRage responds:

the story is as icy as the song. Well written Wolven. You've got a good sense of description.
