HOLY SHIT I LOVE MUSIC IN 5/4. I ADORE THIS SO MUCH. The swelling strings in the background are some nice ear candy too. The calamity bells could use a little more punch maybe. Try some delay in 1/8 plus subtle reverb.
"The Brimstone Elemental had laid dormant for ages until recently. A guardian angel, so to speak, to the First City, present in its history and culture. But then, she rose from her slumber, disturbed by something. From what, I cannot know; but alas, the awakening was horrific.
Fate had a sick sense of humour that day, for Calamitas to be there to match her. The two fought for Azafure, fire against fire; seemingly attuned to one another. But from the ashes, no victor emerged. The brimstone still smolders amongst the dilapidated streets of the First City, despite the Witch's intentions.
I could only imagine the regret those two must feel, especially Calamitas. After the ordeal, she and Permafrost simply left unannounced, and I have not seen them since."
Originally supposed to be a project for school, but never got to use it. So I decided to extend it and put it in my album woohoo
First piece in 5/4, and I gotta say I like it, especially the middle! Tell me what you think!

will do, thanks for the tip
ruins of the first city is in 5/4 too did you notice?
Very good but thank god we didn't play this in our presentation lol goes against everything we laid down
nah it perfectly encapsulates our society
The mix is very brick wall-ed, but I like the instrumentation!
wdym brick walled? Like too compressed? I just threw fruity soft clipper on there and called it a day so I see where you might be coming from lol
I broke my plastic fork while listening to this...ANYWAYS
hey nice song you got there. Has me thinkin bout a few things. have you ever considered trying something super heavy and thrashy? Like uhh death metal or something idk. As for the song itself, The way you do drums is interesting to me but I suck at drums so I ain't saying much. the flute stood out for me in this song I liked that the most. Wasn't a fan of the bell but otherwise very solid song.
Thanks for the review dude. Hardcore shit/metal was never my thing, but it has some distinct characteristics that I like to include in some of my stuff, like an electric guitar or something. A lot of my work is inspired by a composer by the name of DM Dokuro, who also does something like that.
As for the drums, I play the them myself so it comes a bit easier to me. What did you find interesting about them? I'm curious now lol
