Fig N/A: The author forgot to charge the drawing apparatus and thus the above image does not exist (wah wah).
What do you mean I forgot the artist's comments on the last track? I really can't be bothered anymore... don't tell anyone I said that.
I ended up not passing the audition for NGADM anyways, and though I'm a wee bit sour about it, I guess I am pretty new to all this competition stuff.
Still, I'm not letting that stop me from entering more competitions. In fact, this track is my audition to the NGUAC! I think I'll have a better chance there since it seems like relatively new creators are pitted against each other while the "celebrities" remain in their own ring, battling against each other...
Though if I fail this audition too I might look into orchestral arrangements or something like that, or go ambient with DAT4CYN tracks...
Or I might just deliver on all the previous promises I made which I'm still putting off like the lazy eejit I am.
It's been a while since I let Miss Weracidog's drum preset loose. The last time I ever used the set was 10 tracks ago!
I must say, this is quite the departure from what I've made so far. There's so many freaking layers upon layers to the point I have no idea what does what anymore. I've also tuned down the drums a bit so they aren't the most dominating part of the song anymore. Shocking, ain' it.
Also I added a bit more compressors. It's out my comfort zone but it was needed, since otherwise this track would've been reeeeeal quiet.
I'm mostly happy with the mix... except maybe a minor thing here and there, and some reverb stuff I probably went overboard with.
Unfortunately, this isn't a full Weracidog track. It may have some crazy beats and fast paced, but there's some additions that prevent it from being a pure Weracidog track.
What counts as a Weracidog track? Well the main synth must occupy the center channel, while the left and right are reserved for the drum kit and bass. This track is as intense as a Weracidog track, but there's too much going on in the sides, and the extra drum mostly keeps to the center channel.
I'll make a full Weracidog track soon though, so look forward to that.
But for now, have this fast track, and I'll catcha later!
p.s. I actually had another track lined up for NGUAC but seeing how Intermission didn't do particularly well in a contest setting, I instead went back to a song I started and finished around the same time I made that other track...
p.p.s. This track was originally going to be part of [TYPE} which I decided to continue in the end, so I had divided this track into two (weak) versions. After making the decision to use this track as the audition track, I had to combine the two to make one good track. Thank goodness too, since the two tracks that I had ready sucked a big one.
