JAMUARY DAY 31, I gave up yesterday, 30/31, Game Over, gg.

Another reminder, I'm on Mountain Time, it's still 10:24 where I'm at. I'm still in Jamuary, send help D: Don't Give Up Till It's Over Jamuary Playlist

So yesterday I hosted a panel for the winterfest and had a blast doing that but the quality of my songs leading up to the event were bothering the fork out of me. I took yesterday "off" to just refuel emotionally. Writing a song a day for any amount of time really bites into your personal life. Never lose sight of what's important. Creative pursuits can be very therapeutic but you have to keep a roof over your head, pay attention to your health, and sometimes take time off.

Truthfully I had plenty of time to write a song yesterday, I'm just bleeding tired. After the Winterfest panel my fiance was all like "LET'S GO ICE FISHING" and having never fished before I decided to invest some time doing that instead.

It was an educational outdoor recreation day. We cooked these sad cold bois for dinner :'C

There were a few low points in my life where I could only physically/emotionally write a few songs a year, this event was a real pleasure in comparison. Getting to know some of the other users in the Jamuary thread was lovely and healthy. Shout out to Droid, CasperJoaca, Leavesz, vermeen, Siege13, BeepBoxClock, ChordsInMotion, metalblinga, DiosselMusic, YasiinClemens, realityreimagined, KamskiSketchi, trashalias, jacklehamster, and unfortunately many others that I didn't have the time to pick up on while the month dragged on. I'll probably rip through the thread at some point...

Shout out to the people that participated but dropped for other obligations. CzySzy released a new album UwU Slaughter, TheVodouQueen released some really amazing tunes too.

A big thank you to the artists that let me sample their work: Leavesz, Ketyri, milkypossum!!

Another huge thank you to Bleak-Creep, for commissioning an OST for the "Us" series. That's a project I love working on and she seems to be done with the script for Episode 4. I'm excited to conspire in the conclusion to the series now go drop love on her animations.

I've already said "thank you" but god damn if anyone reads these I also wanted to say "thank you for the opportunity to host a panel in your amazing circus of various talent and experience" to Stanpai & LilSpook. There were other staffers I didn't interact with but they deserve love too... whoever you were you deserve love... D':

Since I'm busy "shouting out" things I might as well say that some of the samples came from the Stuck At Home Sample Pack put together by Newgrounds users back in August 2020 when covid had hit.

In case you've never stopped by my Bandcamp page, this is the best way to slip money into my life don't think about it do it.

Damn that's some long text.

Probs the best January song of all of them. Great finale

Quarl responds:

Thank you Mcdoodle :D

You made it! Congrats on pushing through every day of this thing. Gotta be a monumental task for anyone that participated. I still say Day 25 turned out as my favorite one (aside from the score for Us obviously, because <3) but you had quite a few bangers throughout the course of the month there. Wonderful work.

Quarl responds:

I've always felt like music is something you can hit or miss and that quantity always ups the odds of a hit. You can spend a month to a year on one song, or you can write a song a day for 30 days. The second thing is always going to work out better.
