Premonition
Lyrics : Roy Goldschmitz, Sean Lang
Music composed + vocal arrangement by : Roy Goldschmitz
Song produced by : André C. Kalipke
André : Roy's last song for MA (unbeknownst to any of us at the time). Roy's "protest stance" becomes clear in the lyrics to "Premonition". I find it a very expressive text. However, the line "It's time to fight....." perhaps shouldn't be taken too literally. ;)
Sean : Roy submitted his instrumental in 5/92 and we recorded the first version later that month with Roy on backing vocals. Roy did the vocal arrangements, refrain and first verse - I wrote the second verse. It was recorded a second time in 7/92 with André on backing vocals (this version). Roy came up with a new refrain later that month, which was also his last recording for Modern Age.

PREMONITION
I try to trust your stories - the stories of us
I see your face, a face - all over dust
I found a book with your message - a message of blame
Your heresy of delight - it's always the same
Do you need more respect from all sides?
You save your own soul looking for alluring nights?
Ready for the paradise in which you've found a hiding place
Too easy - it's just meant to be - what you've done, what you've seen
I want my own control - I want myself
I waive the pleasant orders of your mind
Hand in hand - now tell me what's the meaning?
Do you understand the different sides of bleeding?
Can't you try to find out the public face of premonition?
Hand in hand - it's time to fight against your nation
I want to trust your stories - the stories of us
I hear a voice, a voice - all over dust
I found a scroll with your message - a message of blame
Your massacre of morale - it's always the same
Do you want more control from all sides?
You trick your own soul looking for alluring nights
Ready for the paradise in which you've found a hiding place
Too easy - it's just meant to be - what you've done, what you've seen
