Happy Robot Day! Wanted to participate this year despite audio not getting judged. Truthfully, I've already received my fair share or Robot Day swag in the past, so I'm all good. Also, this song doesn't have anything to do with Robots other than being EDM but I know posting this on Thursday will keep me active and appreciating other people's robot themed work.

Originally tried merging sweaty club scene Dubstep with down tempo House music and somehow ended up writing Electro. Could probably pass this off as Dubstep but those kids scare me a little. I don't roll hard enough for them. The RSN file still has a four to the floor rhythm on mute. I switched that out for a break beat because my brain just prefers hearing syncopated bass drum rhythms, sorry house step homies :'C

EDIT [10-11-21]: I HAVE FEARLESSLY CHANGED THE GENRE FROM TECHNO TO DUBSTEP, IM NOT AFRAID OF YOU DUBSTEP KIDS. THE HOUR IN WHICH YOUR ZERO BOMBS COULD HURT ME HAS PASSED, MWAHAHAHA!!

The title is a small jab at EDM scenes. With all due respect to the various EDM scenes, the music is intended to be somewhat repetitive and predictable. If you want to break into a "club" scene, it helps to sound just like everyone else in that scene. Following common EDM song structures can also increase the likelihood that your tracks get signed or played out by a big name DJ. Problem is those scenes are already so saturated with talent that you're far more likely to get just a few tracks signed off before getting forgotten about and tossed aside. The money ain't great either. Pursuing the social confirmation of a small elitist scene can lead to some very unhealthy emotional stress or worse, a bloated ego. Those crowds don't love you. Just focus on finding joy in the process of writing music instead of trying to sound just like everyone else. Make music that makes you happy.

Used some of my "vibrator rubbed on random stuff" samples from the Stuck At Home sample pack which was thrown together by various newgrounds users in August of 2020. Go download that. I'm also going to go ahead and share my project RSN file again. Would love to get more young people composing on the DAW, so feel free to remix this or use my patches but make sure to notify me and give credit if you do ;)

The song is good, but it is not dubstep:
MISTAKES:
· The song does not have the drop.
·This dubstep is simple and lazy
·It has very simple and not strong bass
·This song is very similar to those of @OcularNebula
This needs to improve

Quarl responds:

Thank you for listening Gotorotak!

This is my favorite dubstep song.

Your synths always sound like something I'd hear in my head at like 3 am. Also, dat snare

Quarl responds:

Thank you Sinthology! I'm happy that you're happy :D

Great piece! I was expecting this "revolving sounds" (00:50 forward) in it since I began listening to it. Hope you don't mind me using it for a Robot Day animation next year:]

Quarl responds:

Please do, I love hearing my music in cool places :)

this is very interesting i have to say i dig it but it's a little hard on the ears.

Quarl responds:

Turn the volume down? It's compressed to give you the option to lower the volume, instead of having to listen at max volume because the mix might be too quiet :)
