Intriguing title. I love the dark organ chords at the beginning and the frantic riffs at :19. The percussion here is really nice and dynamic, and the heavy use of the ride cymbal gives it a somewhat jazzy feel. At times, I felt like the balance in the texture was a bit off - there's a big emphasis on the frantic harmonic elements, whereas for example, I think elements like the brass solo at :57 should probably take precedence, even though it's short-lived. The organ chords toward the middle make for a cool bridge, although perhaps that section could've been integrated a bit more cleanly with the final orchestral section at 2:04. That said, I really like the additional mallets and string harmonies during the final minute. The piece never quite relieves the sense of tension it creates throughout, but otherwise it's a great example of how you're so good at creating these cinematic masterpieces. Cheers, Ale! ^_^

Hey! Nice to hear from you. I hope you're doing well :)

This is not my favourite of my own compositions, since indeed there are quite a few things that could be improved in it. I still like the general idea, but I just didn't have enough time to spend on it to really make it shine. I'm glad that you still found some enjoyment in it, and thank you for taking the time to leave such a solid review!

Good, solid piece. I love the weight of the organs. It makes you FEEL something. But I think the sheer number of instruments might make it a bit too chaotic. The piano discord after the first organ could be fine-tuned... but is overall good. I think the trumpets and the piano (combined) do not add value to the piece. They seem to make it *too* chaotic or jumpy/jumbled. It becomes difficult to follow.

But this is a great piece and I would love to see more of your work. Keep it up! 4/5

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you for the feedback, and for listening!
There's certainly meant to be some elements of chaos in this piece, but at the same time, I agree it shouldn't be too distracting :)

I see that you already did check out another work of mine, so thanks for that too ^____^

suena de maravilla!!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Muchas gracias :)

The orchestration is excellent. I noticed many types of articulations, and they all seem to fit perfectly. My favorite part of the song is the percussion, the cymbals especially; they greatly enhance the intensity of the eerie vibe. The rising piano run leading to the ending is spectacular.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you! I had a hard time picking out the articulations for this one, so I'm glad if it paid of. I used a lot of "short" sounds, as that made the most sense, given the fast tempo, and how difficult it would be to mix if all the layers stayed in place for a long time.

I'm very happy with the cymbals myself! Instead of using an orchestral cymbal, I used a good drum kit, with many different cymbal articulations, and I placed all the hits myself.
I'm still impressed by your ear, as I think you notice individual details behind all the layers (in particular, the piano coming back in the end, a little bit a time).

PIANO i like it

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I must admit, I too like the piano!
