Cutscene 1 Maybe? - At Your Service

So because I had scrapped another song without finishing it, my files are all named weird. This one is just called song 4 and I think it was supposed to be for a cutscene. I genuinely don't remember if I even submitted this one but I feel that I like it enough to post it here.

Since this melody became the "theme" of the game, I decided to just re-use it for a cutscene BGM. I just had to simplify some of the ideas into something calming enough to be played under a cutscene.

I think the melody changed a teeny tiny bit just to fit better with the new accordion lead instrument. While I was in a meeting with the members we were talking about possible instruments to use for the game and one of the ones mentioned was an accordion. I was playing a bunch of Professor Layton around the same time so I thought it was a good idea. Unfortunately for the actual songs used during gameplay I didn't feel that the accordion fit with the songs. That somehow ended up here instead which I'm happy with. Other than that the harmony remains intact because I'm a lazy piece of shit.

What's good about knowing how music works is that you can just re-use old compositions. I've talked about it before and it's just nice to be able to put something in a blender and something new comes out. Considering that I was in a weird spot, I think having this song made was a nice "break". Don't tell the team that I was just lazy or they'll get mad at me... just kidding. :P
