I am encouraging of remixes of my tracks, so you can find a link to a Google Drive Folder with a zipped version of the Project file here (You will likely not have every plugin you need, but all of the midi and modulation should still be there): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hAHb9w0jR6ItoeRC9UrGay0Rctcs7YZB/view?usp=sharing
Edit: It has been brought to my attention that this link has the bad fortune to contain the phrase "UrGay" in it, even though that part of the link is just randomly jumbled characters... Ok now you don't have to tell me in the comments.

Making this
---
I have wanted to make a Colour Bass track like this for years man, but the lag Vocodex would give my old laptop made it practically impossible, especially when it was already hard enough bearing the lag in a project that only used one or 2 Vocodexes. Now I have my new PC, I've been able to spam as many Vocodexes with as many bands as I like, which has made this a lot easier to make.
Still took a while to come out because of Uni work (sorry about that), but also because I've been beginning to make assets for a story-based game inspired by all of my favourite story-based games in recent years (Undertale, Oneshot, Omori, the Persona Games, etc.). It's a big thing for me to take on, so I've basically been planning to work on it slowly but constantly over a long period of time. I've been making dialogue portraits for the characters and tracks for the soundtrack. (Check news post on my account for more info, tell me if you want me to upload my work so far on the soundtrack) By the way, the art-style used to make those character dialogue portraits will be very similar to what you see on the cover for this.

What's that title about?

Synaesthesia, or Synesthesia (American Spelling), is essentially a condition where your brain can accidentally mix up signals relating to senses. There are 2 types, associative and projective. The associative type is where certain sounds, colours, or concepts are strongly and involuntarily connected in your mind with other concepts; for example you could listen to a song and have an inexplicable strong feeling that if that song were a colour, it would be green for example. The projective type is when you will actually have that sense triggered by another sensation, literally being able to taste colours, or see sound.
I have the associative type of Synaesthesia, and for quite a while I just assumed it was something everyone had, but no-one talked about it. That might sound weird to you, but it was never really important information for me to tell everyone that I can only imagine the number 8 being red or March being a blue month, and I couldn't explain why I think that so I never really brought it up. It's certainly not a bad thing to have though, although it can be distracting, some people think having synaesthesia has helped them to be more creative; and personally I feel like that's probably true for me.
For a while this had just been called "Colour Bass". This track I didn't really go into with a theme in mind, I just wanted to make some energetic, happy, and intense Colour Bass; but that meant that for a long time I struggled on what to name it. I had the idea to call it Synaesthesia because when I was trying to think of what to call it, I knew I liked the idea of calling it something abstract and colour-related, which this would fit for. I kept trying to think of a title that would sum up how I felt the purpose of this track was to be bright and colourful.
I thought I should try to make the title something that described the colours it made me think of when hearing it, only this track made me think of almost every colour. There were basses that sounded Red to me, Green, Blue, Yellow, basically bright saturated shades of every colour except Orange - aside from it generally leaning towards blue-y purple-y colours, it was mostly just a mix of every colour in my head. I didn't just want to call this something like "Rainbow" or "Multi-coloured" though, not only would that be generic, but I felt that didn't really do the mental image this track gives me justice since as colourful as it is it wasn't really like a rainbow like every colour just evenly distributed in stripes. I eventually realised that really what I was trying to convey was just the intense sensation (well, in comparison to most other music at least) of bright and uplifting colours this track gave me, because this track was making me feel that the sounds had colours more than any other track I'd ever made, so what I was really doing was trying to convey the feeling of synaesthesia. After realising that, it seemed like a perfect title to me.
I can understand to some of you this may seem like super over-analysing just to name my track, but I never really liked just giving my tracks 'funny names' or generic 'trying hard to sound cool' names; and it can be surprisingly hard to name your tracks if you don't go into them with some sorta theme in mind. It doesn't have to be super deep every time or anything, but I just would be too bothered if I had to name one of my tracks something that I didn't think really fit what it was like. It would bother me every time I would be reminded of it, so even if it doesn't technically matter much, I really like to make sure it's something I feel fits well enough. Also, I know to some people who've never heard about synaesthesia this can be really interesting and weird to hear, so I just thought some of you might actually find that kinda fascinating.
