A Lo-Fi Vaporwave'y trance'y song that experiments with time (but probably not space, unless you see what's going on with audio clips in the project near the end)
Note for moderators: Yes, I've got a commercial use, royalty-free license for all of the used samples and this song is far from a mere MMM-style loop arrangement (I wanted to get this out first, as it's better to be safe than sorry, right?)
This song was very much full of novelty for me, as I have changed my DAW yet again (though I actually had FL for a few months, I just haven't finished anything in it yet), I have never done anything in this style/genre, and this is the first time I messed with samples this extensively, which allowed for so many cool techniques! The thing that I've done a second time though is participating in a competition, this time organised by the creators of the used sample pack (that's why I had to focus so much on it), although it's supposed to be more of a Hip-Hop contest, but I guess vaporwave and Lo-Fi are close enough?.. If... it even is vaporwave. (I need to finally educate myself on EDM genres) Well, vaporwave relies on doing weird stuff with samples, so this song does probably have some resemblance to this micro-genre. As for Lo-Fi - it's likely not Lo-Fi nor chill enough.
Somewhere at the beginning I was experimenting with a rimshot sample and it ended up sounding like a clock... So I got the idea to make time the theme of the song. For example, the words I chose are all related to time, I also used things like granular synthesis, a bit of Gross Beat in a few bars, slicing, autotune on a synth sound (it's a really cool technique for Lo-Fi) and finally, some wild tempo automation at the end, which one of my demo listeners described as "falling into a black hole".
