An ice level. This is quite different from my previous work in that I focused a lot on details - in terms of adding neat little details around the area-the background (which comprise of large ice glaciers -as well as the small windows and gaps where chunks of ice fell into piles of snow inside them-, as well as the ice temple, forest, cave, and giant waterfall), and middle ground/foreground (the broken and cracked thin ice either forming the ground or floating over the water; the chunks of ice that serve as platforms). Also no characters here, and the ice platforms are also supposed to form two platforming planes. I think in terms of details this is one of my better works.

I originally planned a writeup for the color version when I originally published it, but I never got around to it. The most I can remember (or what I think I would had said back then) was that rendering this landscape in took up a lot of time. What I can say is that over a decade on, the effort shows to this day--I think this is without a doubt one of the best landscape illustrations I've ever made, and in terms of painting/rendering techniques, remains among my absolute finest (which surprises me, TBH). A fair amount of my landscapes usually have notable changes in details/appearance from their transition from pencil/traditional to color/digital, and this ended up being one of the few where few if any sacrifices were made. I dunno if I will ever even try to remake this, but if I do, I hope it isn't a stylistically different reproduction. I would like to try a more realistically-rendered version of this concept someday with my current art skills.
