Courtney Compilation [2017-2023]

Share

A compilation of artwork I made of my Postal Squadron leader, mailwoman, and secretary OC, Courtney, from 2017 through 2023.

Original art titles, art date publications; and art descriptions:

Courtney the Radiant (1) / October 12th, 2017

Remember the fourth co-worker / friend of Tab's group of mailmen I mentioned a while back with Tab Springs? Here she is.

This is Courtney, who's actually the leader of the mail delivery division Tab, Accel, and C.D. belong to. She's the one who manages the business and who everyone looks up to for solving problems; and while she tries to be above it, she does have and sometimes show that she deeply cares about the well-being of her fellow co-workers. Aside from her managerial role, the rest of the crew get behind Courtney when danger is imminent--she can take in hits almost as good as she can belt them out, usually through her golden mailbox. While visually a bit kitschy, it also serves as an impressive weapon of choice, doubling as a jet-propelled hammer with very deceptive abilities.

Leadership Tremors (2) / January 4th, 2019

As the head of the Patrol Squadron, Courtney usually does a commendable job in taking charge and accepting responsibility for the actions of her and her team. Unfortunately however, she has occasional doubts on whether she is really is qualified to be a leader in any capacity. The days when the team is in a rough spot and she's completely spent on options and ideas are when she's at her most vulnerable. Worst of all, whether her crew is aware of this and try to rebuild her confidence depends on just how bad the situation is...

Order of the Court (3) / September 19th, 2020

This was supposed to be just a quick sketch in one yesterday evening with a dash of color, but I wasn't quite finished with the colors by the time I went to bed. The background is based on an photo I took some years ago on a trip to the Dover cliffs.

If Courtney's shoulders look broader than usual, that's because I wanted to emphasize her physique/muscles more; as she's the Postal Squadron's strongest member in addition to being the team leader.

Racquet (4) / July 23rd, 2021

It's been a while since I last did a drawing for Courtney. And more (parallel) hatchet shading practice.

Clipboard (5) / July 5th, 2022

Tease of a secretary-based redesign (or alternate design) I've been toying with Courtney for a while. The main idea was that as the lead/head of the Postal Squadron department, she has to run the business/management side of things, hence her office attire.

Mailbox Fax (6) / August 12th, 2022

Courtney's tired and ready for the weekend, TGIF and all that. But until she can clock out, all she has is her cup of coffee. (This was the alternate office secretary look I teased with Clipboard.)

Tabletop (Original - 7) / April 22th, 2023

Tabletop (Alt - 8) / April 24th, 2023

Those invoices and documentations for deliveries aren't going to be filled out by themselves.

[Original is Courtney in her usual "mailwoman" outfit, alternate is Courtney in her secretary outfit.]

This is my first art that I've completed with my new drawing tablet and pen, a Medium-sized Wacom Intuos Pro and the Wacom Pen Pro 2 that comes with it. It was originally sketched out on my former/now-retired Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet and the associated Wacom pen that comes with that; then put on the shelf during my trip to Canada. The inking and coloring was done with the Intuos Pro 2; which you can probably tell by how consistently dynamic the lineart is in regards to the contours and size of the lines. (That's not to say lineart in my previous art wasn't dynamic. But it was typically more subtle and/or uncommon, because in those cases I usually had to go back and use the line correction tool to emphasize the contours and varying widths.)
