With the discovery of Cold Fusion Reactors and the outbreak of the Hyena War, the M315-1 "Sarge" was the Triple Alliance's first battle amplifier. Standing at 15 feet in its quadruped transport mode, it is capable of switching to a combat-focused biped form standing at 31.5 ft hence its numerical designation. Finding common use in the urban environments the Hyena War occurred in, what the sarge lacked for in armament and movement it made up for in heavy armor. Its Torso Chassis is made of two inches of Composite armor of Litho-steel alloys, protecting its two-person crew from all but the strongest of armor-piercing and explosive munitions. Its limbs, though made of soft rubber-like materials, have the ability to flex and harden to such a degree as to match the chassis durability. However, it's necessary that the forelimb or aftlimb pilot engage the hardening PTO, otherwise, the limbs are susceptible to damage from the weakest of armor-piercing munitions used by Hyenas at the time. To engage in combat the vehicle needed to go into biped mode and then equip itself with two eight round 84mm rocket pods. Attached via electro-magnets on the forepaws, the rocket pods allow a large volume of fire to be placed downrange in a cheap yet powerful package. If the firepower wasn't enough to destroy the enemy, infantry elements acted to outflank and overrun the enemy's position thanks to the sarge's help. Against the common "Akibu"-class medium battle amplifiers employed by the hyenas, the sarge was a formidable foe. Still, its slowness, height, and lackluster armaments made it not the greatest combat battle amplifier, and as such the M315 would serve as the platform for future battle amplifiers in the T.A.G's service. These include the HICQU "Braceface" Urban combat battle amplifier, and the more familiar-looking M315-3 "Ripper" mountainous combat battle amplifier. The M315-3 would retain the quadruped focus of the sarge and improve upon it with sharp claws and a muzzle-loaded plasma gun capable of firing 50 cal superheated plasma balls that upon contact with armour cause instantaneous collapsing followed by melting and spontaneous combustion of biomatter within feet of where the round landed. Integral for the taking of the Uluru Fortress Cannon, The M315-3 would earn the nickname "Nightmare of the battlefield."

Years after the Hyena Island Incident brought an abrupt end to the war, the sarge was still in use as a transport. Its hydraulic tail is capable of lifting 25 of equipment or personnel in either conex or specially made bunkers. No matter its on current bases or old training grounds, the M315-1 "Sarge" is the workhorse of the triple alliance guard.
