I drew this instead of getting sleep last night. Whoops.

Kind of vent art; I've been having a lot of difficulty with an assignment recently. It's modeling a plane in Maya, and it's been a tedious, frustrating process that I've had to start over more than once. Luckily, the teacher is incredibly helpful and understanding, and has helped me quickly get more of a hang of it. It's important to remember that while it's frustrating to be new to something when you're so far along in something else, you don't sign on to learn something new because you intend to be instantly good at it. We're all works in progress, we all "click" at different times and in different ways. So remember to stay optimistic!

So, due to my frustration, I turned to my usual comfort of drawing a throwaway sketch that I end up getting extremely attached to and invest more time and effort in than I expected to. I wanted to draw some sort of flying vehicle for myself, really to prove to myself that I could. You'll notice that Josephine here is a bit of a departure from my usual habits of drawing machinery; with deliberate asymmetry in the mechanical details, and no pop-culture source material that it's based on.

My friends say it has a very Cowboy Bebop feel to it, and I'm inclined to agree. I could see Josephine flying through the silence of space, the only sound being jazz.

Hope you all like it, and hope you're all doing well!

How am I not following you? Fixed.

Yes, I agree. Very Beboppy. Also echoes the Vic Viper juuuust a teensy bit. Vic Viper being one of my all-time favorite sci-fi fighter designs. Well done, I love it!

Aw damn, you’re nice.

I’d never heard of the Vic Viper before, but looking at it now, I can see the parallels. I’m really glad you like it!

Looks super sleek and even comfy. Nice work.

HeartisttheArtist responds:

Thanks man! Glad you like it!
