Centuries ago, a powerful demon named Phobandeus spread terror among the people of earth with his use of magic to conjure fears as it is said there is no sound he loved more than screams. Phobandeus's reign only came to an end when a team of powerful warlocks assembled to stop him under the leadership of the most powerful of them all - Solomon. A mighty battle was waged and although the team couldn't slay Phobandeus, they were able to weaken him - casting a spell that stripped him of his magics and bound them to humble instruments while reducing the demon to a simple music box that was swallowed by the earth. As the years pass and the warlocks who sealed Phobandeus away begin to pass too, the vessels for his magics begin to take on a life of their own - reacting to the love of fear flowing through them as given by their “Director”, they set out to cause terror on the people of Earth under a banner that honors the one to whom they owe it all and call themselves the "Nightmare Phoband Parade". New generations of warlocks rise to the call to fight the Parade, with the most notable of this new generation being one Vincent Van Ghoul. Nowadays not so much looking to be a warrior but a mentor in his older years, Vincent has sought to recreate the efforts of Solomon on a larger scale with teams stationed around the globe to try and stop Phobandeus's forces wherever they may arise. However, efforts are slow going as it means facing fear itself in some way....but maybe some meddling kids and their dog are just the kind of proteges he needs to get the upper hand.
