Ahoi!

I'm a bit late on this, but I really wanted to make something for Pixel Day this year. I chose to create a little tribute to one of my favorite games, Scanner Sombre. It's a relatively short game, but I absolutely love the atmosphere, music, and the gameplay mechanic of navigating a pitch-black cave system with a LIDAR headset. I chose to name this piece after one of the songs on the soundtrack. I went back and forth with how much black/static I wanted to use, but I think it came out alright.

I actually had a completely different idea for my Pixel Day piece that ended up being a bit too ambitious to finish on time, so I'll probably keep chipping away at that to make it extra super duper epic. This is also my first time using Pixelorama, a free, open-source pixel art program.

Anyway, this was a ton of fun to make. It's interesting trying to imagine how a game like this would work on an old console.
