Flaw

Cubus Curse – The fragmented essences of what makes an Incubus/Succubus has entwined itself within Karina’s very soul and has left a demon’s mark on her pelvis. It requires special means to be removed, without damaging the soul of the host. This semi-sentient curse gives her a higher-than-average sex drive to influence Karina to give into her carnal desires, for the curse to feed off the sexual energy. It mainly follows the basic instincts to feed, survive, and defend itself and the host by proxy. But the more the curse feeds, the more sentient it becomes and could transform Karina depending on her dynamic with it.


As a trade of, the curse has endowed her with several abilities: Enhanced Magical Output; Empathic Sense (Sense Emotion); Physical Resilience; Resistant to fire, Lighting, Disease, and Poison; Understanding Demon speech; Pheromone Release; and a Healing factor.


Background

Karina is from a small trade town called Windland. She was always a bit of a tomboy but liked to help her mother with her shop. She dreamed of adventure but was content with her simple life. That was until a monster suddenly attacked her town when she was 13. The town wizard Ulin was about to be killed in the chaos until Karina dove in to save the Drow. The young girl was about to be eaten by the monster in the process, until a power manifested from a birthmark on her right hand. The power managed to cripple the creature, giving Ulin and the Town guards the chance to kill it. Karina realized that with her power, her dreams of adventure could become a reality! She started training under the wizard Ulin and her father to master her power and learn the ways of the sword. At the age of 18, Karina set out on her own and joined the adventurer’s guild.


Adventuring Timeline

Solo (18) Spent the first 6 months of her adventuring carrier on her own. Earning a reputation for being efficient and going the extra mile.


First party (Members: 4 to 8) (18 – 21) Roughly 2-and-a-half years (The first party she was invited to, was a good bunch and they all worked together pretty well. However, more people were invited to the party, that shifted the dynamic. Drama and infighting started to build and caused the group’s effectiveness to breakdown. What finally broke the party was a quest gone wrong that only left Karina and two others alive. They all went their separate ways.)


Solo (21) Karina went back to soloing for the next 6 months wanting to clear her mind of the tragedy.


Second Party (Members: 5) (21 – 22) Roughly 6 months (The Second party Karina was invited to supposed to be a temporary but lasted longer than expected. The party leader was a charmer, and it helped ease the pain of her lost team. Even having a causal relationship with him, until she discovered that he was manipulating her. He attempted to stop her from leaving, and she broke his arm in the process.)


Solo (22 - 30) Karina then spent the next 8 years mainly going solo for her carrier. She would occasionally join parties or raid groups. But she would leave after the quest was officially completed. She had nothing against them personally, she just found it easier to avoid potential drama by keeping to herself. By the time she was 25, she managed to achieve the rank of silver. However, even though Krina mainly kept to herself. There was a certain part-time party hoping adventurer that she was always willing to partner up with, Westly Colton. An artificer that specialized in weaving magic into garments and clothing. She had known of him for around the time she joined the guild. But it was during the time she went primarily solo that they became friends. She admired the craftmanship of his work and how he applied his enchantments. She felt comfortable around him and trusted him. Westly never asked anything of her except for some of her time and skill when taking of a quest that would get him more materials for his craft. When Karina earned the rank of silver, Westly gifted her a white scarf with gold trim that gave her several enchantments. It was at that point that Karina felt herself starting to fall for him. Always making sure to stop in to see him whenever she got back from or before she left for a job. If he was in town at the time.

Around the time Karina was 30, she took a quest to explore a recently discovered dungeon. The guild suggested she could take a temporary team with her, but she said she would be fine. As she explored the dungeon, she found signs of demon worship. She considered heading back but decided to at least get to the central chamber. Upon entering the chamber, Karina accidentally activated a trap that ended up completing some kind of ritual and was struck with a blast of demonic energy that rendered her unconscious. Karina woke up an hour later feeling fine, chalking it up to centuries of decay on the trap. She took notes of the chamber and departed the dungeon.


On her way back to the Guild, Karina encountered a caravan that was being attacked by a group of Highwaymen. She immediately dove into the rescue and dispatched the brigands with ease. The Caravan consisted of a young couple that were grateful for her help but couldn’t offer her much as thanks in return. Karina told them not to worry about it and just asked them for a ride. The next thing Karina knew, she woke up the next morning naked in the back of the caravan she saved, with the couple who were also naked and lying on top of her. Yesterday came rushing back to her, at some point during their journey, she had seduced the couple into a three-way as part of her reward. Karine wondered what had gotten into her, until she moved the blanket and saw the demon’s mark on her pelvis. Karina panicked, making sure to grab her things before fleeing the caravan. After reporting back to the guild to report her findings but leaving out the part of her getting cursed. Karina took a leave of absence, saying she just needed a break but was actually on the hunt to find a cure for her curse.

  • Cleared more than 30 dungeons. (Some solo and some with her parties at the time.)
  • While with her parties: they have defeated a sea hag, a Manticore, a Chimira, a giant octopus, broke up a slave operation, stopped poachers from hunting Griffins, and stopped a conspiracy to assassinate an Earl.
