Share

urSol the Chanter from the Jim Henson film the Dark Crystal.

He was the counterpart of skekSil the Chamberlain who had a gentle voice to speak, while his singing voice would stop the flow of water or make the rocks in the valley shake. The Chanter would be careful with his powerful voice as to not drown out Jen's firca when singing.

urSol live through the entirety of the age of Division and when the Crystal at last call to them, he march with the other Mystics back to the castle: in the film, it was he/Chamberlain who provide the first reveal of the Skeksis/Mystics connection, before the fiery death of skekTek/urTih, when Jen stab the Chamberlain's hand with the Shard of Division trying to save Kira. In the end he reunited with his half and as SilSol the urSkek departed with his 7 companions, leaving the Crystal of Truth to Jen and Kira.

Spoilers for the comics Power of the Dark Crystal & Beneath the Dark Crystal:

One Hundred thrine later, he was reborn in the Power of the Dark Crystal Comic, when Thurma the Fireling crack the Great Crystal causing a second Division; while he remain close to the Dark Crystal with his comrades, he did not agreed with the Neutrality stands - indeed, Aughra describe the Chanter as impatient and a Rogue for urRu standards. UrSol, refusing to be neutral, gave Aughra a Tuning fork, which later summon Bohrtog from the urSkek's home world onto Thra to provide assistance. Sadly, urSol died by Proxy when the Chamberlain was disintegrated by the flying fragments of the Crystal, but unlike his other decease comrades, who disappear into oblivion, the Spirits of the Chanter and the Chamberlain now reside in the Prism (or the Dream Space), where Kenso met them once more following a near death experience.
