Jurasaurus was the 4th Kaiju by order of appearance in the Fireman TV series, serving as the Monster of the week in Ep.5, The Boy who fell into the Jurassic Period.

Note: You have no idea how happy I was drawing this guy; My major disappointment with Dinosaur Great War Izenborg was that while it was a show about Dinosaurs, not one that face the team was a long neck sauropod. So by far, this guy (and the other Fireman long necks) have been my favorites in this show to work on, and mind you, Fireman came Before Izenborg. Tsuburaya Production pretty much had free reign on the Daiei work lot, and the standard with in it actually allow them to create the various Long Necks seeing in this show, and Tsuburaya, like many studios, would save and reused Costumes to make new Kaiju for their next projects. I can't comprehend why they didn't do that for the Fireman Costumes when they went on to work on Izenborg.

_Bio and Abilities_

Jurasaurus was a mutated Dinosaur who resided in an large underground Eco System akin to the Jurassic Period that was expose to the natural light and air of the world above after a Chemical dissolve the ground; The animal change from a Herbivorous diet to a Carnivorous one, and went after Misaki, Mariko and a small Child wanting to devour them, before facing Fireman.

Jurasaurus resembled a Massive Sauropod, green and yellow in color; with a large body hold by four legs, a long neck and tail, the latter used as whip or to rope and enemy; the head had three yellow horns which could break through any re-enforce hull 1m thick; body was covered in massive bumps which would absorb physical attacks or survive falls, its back was segmented; it had large feet with claws which allowed him to clear rocks and trees in its path; more over, with its fangs, Jurasaurus would not only bite, but inject a venom through the fangs, a bi-product of its consumption of the plants in the cavern, which would inflict great pain on its enemy.

Jurasaurus roar comes from Zigras, an enemy Alien Kaiju in the Showa Gamera films. Interestingly, Daiei seem to have a large height compared to length standard and the crew made many long neck Kaiju.

_History_

SAF investigates the recurrence of strange Earthquake activity in an area building up for years when Mizushima finds a strange orange color chemical spill sipping through the rocks. Meanwhile, a Small Boy (who has NO NAME BTW) appears holding a strange plant which resembles ones from the Jurassic Period that he has found in a secret place and takes Misaki to see it, but both slide down a hole where they end up in a Underground Jurassic Eco System – Misaki losing the fire stick in the process. The Chemical spill is seeing going into a fissure and a large lake in the area, heated into vapor by the Geothermal heat from beneath the ground. As Umino and Mariko search for the missing Misaki and Child, Mariko falls in the same hole and later finds Misaki and the Child – all three of them now stuck, hanging at the edge of the wall holding onto roots.

Mizushima discovers that under heat, the Chemical can break up the ground in a Gas state, making the whole area dangerous. Concern the unstable Ground is related to the Earthquakes and the disappearance of the others, Umino orders Chiba to ready the Mogurian Underground vehicle so to search for Misaki and Mariko, the latter having activated her emergency transmitter just as they is launch to search for them, following the signal.

Jurasaurus then makes its appearance among the foliage and sees the hanging trio – Misaki falls, but the beast goes for Mariko and the Child trying to eat them; Misaki recovers the Fire Stick and transforms into Fireman, lifting and tossing the Animal away before it could devour its friends and battle. The Mogurian breaks through the Underground World and Umino and Chiba rescue Mariko and the Child on time.

As Fireman tries to hold the Beast, Jurasaurus holds him with its tail, allowing him to bite the hero in the Leg and Arm. Seeing Fireman in trouble, the Mogurian opens fire with its Energy Beam onto Jurasaurus disorienting it, allowing Fireman to use its FireFlash projectile attack, blasting the Beast's head, killing it; The Humanoid Giant then reverts to Misaki and reunites with the others and escape just as a final Earthquake hits – the massive cave in buries the dead Jurasaurus and destroys the Underground Jurassic World. The Cave in also stops the Chemical Spill, but Mizushima later expands that the Chemical's Gas was what resulted in the animal's mutation and behavior change, but also expresses concern that the chemical sip through the air and roams the world as vapor, falling back into the ground as rain as well could damage the Earth from with it.

After taking the Child back to his home, Misaki gets an immediate call of another Earthquake and runs back to deploy for the next mission.
