Black Gamma was the 51st Kaiju by order of appearance, who served in Ep.35 – "Crash Course! The Challenge of the Devil's Ball Monster" – in the Dinosaur Great War Izenborg.

_Bio and Abilities_

Was another silly looking Monster – I'm not joking – that Grottes used to challenge the Aizenborg in a Soccer Match: it's only abilities was to burrow its way underground and transform into a large Soccer Ball with spikes and a face, and with the help of Grottes, he would kick him causing a devastation to its opponent, as well it posses a hard shell that would protect him from projectiles, but the underbelly was soft. Besides this, the monster had no other powers and indeed was an ineffective combatant on its own, trying to strike Aizenborg from behind when not looking. It's the 2nd monster killed accidentally by Grottes since ZaZa.

The suit of Black Gamma is a reused from the Kaiju Yotandon and Bodaros.

_Story_

While out jogging with Zen, Ai is hit by Soccer Ball which from a player doing some practice – Ai recognizes him as an old friend, Hamamoto, but he leaves. When having a talk later at HQ, the alarm sounds off as another Kaiju (Black Gamma) attacks Tokyo and the Team is deployed. On site, they fight the beast with their weapons, but Gamma protects itself with its back Shell, however it is knocked out when IzenOne launches a missile at ground level under him.

Under Grottes command, the Beast transforms into is Soccer Ball form as his master joins the fight and proceeds to fight the team with its Soccer Moves, knocking IzenTwo off the fight: he tries to kill Ippei and Barra, who had parachuted from their craft, but the Super Izenborg intervenes, saving them on time. After been hit, the siblings Combine into Aizenborg and the giants have a Soccer Match, but the Humanoid is taken down by Grottes and Black Gamma.

Grottes then tries to strike Aizenborg with his blade, but the Humanoid blocks and kicks him, then they have a one on one combat, with Aizenborg owning Grottes. Responding to his Master's help, Black Gamma reverts back to its beast form and jumps onto the Hero from behind only to fall onto Grottes instead, as Aizenborg avoided him. Grottes reprimands the Beast and challenges Aizenborg for another fight later and both villains retreat.

Afterwards, the siblings search for Hamamoto and ask him for help, relunctant at first, they remind him of his father, a Captain of a Boat that sunk at the hands of an (unidentified) Kaiju, and the player agrees to train Zen – during such, Hamamoto is somewhat held back after a long time of not practicing, but anoter talk with Zen, he recovers his spirit and beat Zen, however, the siblings are recalled as the Monster appears and they joined up with the Izenborg and march towards Grottes and Black Gamma, who were waiting for them.

They fired at him but Gamma blocks their missiles, protecting Grottes; the Beast transforms into its Soccer Ball form and a again, knocks out IzenTwo. Grottes then smacks the Super Izenborg with Gamma, forcing the Siblings to form Aizenborg once more.

Quick Rant: can it be said how redundant the second Unit has become by this point in the series since the Entry of Aizenborg?

Grottes then has his fun with the Humanoid, smacking him constantly with Black Gamma; Hamamoto shows up seeing the match, realizing the Giant is Zen, and spouts words of encouragement to the Humanoid, he is able to grab the ball, and returns it to Grottes using Hamamoto's own move on him, hitting the villain. Grottes and Aizenborg then have a one on one fight with their blades, with the Hero having the upper hand, but Black Gamma sneaks from behind and smacks Aizenborg down, taking every opportunity to do so when not looking.

Finally, when down and cornered from both sides, Aizenborg jumps out of the way as Grottes and Black Gamma dashed towards him; the end result is Grottes accidentally impaling Black Gamma with his blade. The Beast reels in pain, falls to the ground, deflates while bursting in flames, leaving his ashes behind. An furious Grottes vows to finish Aizenborg and escapes.

In the aftermath, the Siblings thank Hamamoto for his help.
