Dinosaur Great War Izenborg No11 - Unko vs Iguno

Share

Unko the Ankylosaurus and Iguno the Iguanodon were two DinoKaiju who appear in Dinosaur Great War Izenborg Ep.11 - "Cross the Tears of the Dinosaur Grave!", been the 18th and 19th Monsters in the show's order of appearance.

The 2nd Ankylosaurus of the Show since Aroro, Unko shared the same traits and powers as his Predecessor, but was distinct for not been evil or spiteful to humans, even when they didn't thought the same of him, thanks to three children he befriended; Unko chose to fully defect to Humanity's side and was the first Dinosaur to fight to protect them from Iguno. Unko may had been a bit smaller than Aroro, as he was able to stand and walk on his hind legs, rather than walk on all four as Aroro did.

Iguno was an Iguanodon DinoKaiju and the 2nd Monster to appear in the episode; After Burrowing, he could fire a Red Beam from the mouth as well possess the ability to change appearance. He was sent to make Humans mistrust of Unko after he betrayed the Dinosaur Empire for befriending them, as well kill him. Iguno's skin proves to be resistant to laser beams and the piercing weapons of the Izenborg – except for the (ajum) lower back end.

The story starts with three siblings from a fisherman's village skiing in the sand (work with me, that's how it was shown) when they fall into a sand hole cause by the burrowing Unko – as one of the fishermen throws a harpoon to help the little sister out, the three felt pity for the creature and help pull the object off its nose; by the time D-Squad arrives, they, like the locals, are shock to see the massive Ankylosaurus play with the kids, pulling them on their skis. When they realize the creature was indeed gentle hearten, the Heroes decide to leave Unko in peace – sadly, this did not go unnoticed by Ururu, who called for a new Dinosaur to attack.

This 2nd Dinosaur, another "Ankylosaurus", attacks and destroys a resort; D-Squad arrives to fight the "treacherous" dino, but the former disappears in a cloud of smoke; after the attack. After the event D-Squad and the JSDF decide to destroy it; when Unko comes out to play with the kids, these are taken away and arm forces begin their attack, ignoring the cries of the children's pleas to stop. After destroying some tanks with his fire breath, Unko is knocked out by Missiles, to the joy of the crowd, but that of the Children's Sadness.

In that moment the 2nd Ankylosaurus appears, and to the horror of all, reveals itself as different Dino, Iguno the Iguanodon; realizing the ruse, the ground forces attack Iguno, but the new dinosaur decimates the JSDF and tosses the IzenOne, IzenTwo tries to cover for them, but the Beast sets its eyes on IzenOne, intent to destroy it; In that moment, Unko awakens and sees the humans in trouble and attacks the Iguanodon, with the three kids cheering it up.

Despite his stand, and weaken by the assault, Iguno proves the more able fighter, Zen and Ai wanting to help, try to IzenCross, but failed, as Zen suffered (unseen) damage in the crash. Iguno (after doing wrestling moves) throws Unko and bites him in the jugular; the Ankylosaurus dies of extreme bleeding. Inspired by its sacrifice, the sibling IzenCross and take revenge for the innocent noble Ankylosaurus, but the initial strikes with the Folding Cutter and IzenDrill prove ineffective; Izenborg then digs, Iguno tries to dig them out, Izenborg appears from behind and vertically slices the Iguanodon with the IzenDrill, exploding as result; finally avenging Unko and much to the ire of Ururu.

Later, D-Squad and the three Children pray for Unko's rest, with a make cross memorial, next to the statue of the Ankylosaurus seen at the start of the episode.
