In the rough and hot City of Kiln live the Styx Family, a cursed bloodline that has lived with the Demonic Flame power, many Espers who fall under the influence of the Demon Flame will be seduced by it's power and they themselves are overtaken by their Demons, Kurt's Father Brutus Styx wants to prevent his family from being taken from that curse, mastering his Flaming Esper abilities he trains his son to also not be seduced by his demons, Kurt has had many experiences where his flames would turn against him and even harm him, even making him accidentally burn his loving pet to ash, to prevent Kurt from being like his Grandfather who embraced the flames and became a Demon, Brutus teaches him to show his power that he is the Master, not the flame, over the years Kurt has trained with his power, although the voices in his head still try to get to him he does not fear them and scolds them instead, having learned to control her flame Kurt has found many uses with them

Training with his Father Kurt has learned to fight without his fire and weapon, learning the ways of Tang Soo Do Kurt can fight hand-to-hand and even combine this with his flames, he has trained in dealing with the Twisted after his last hometown was overrun by them and his Father had to move him and his Mother out along with his adopted sister Celeste Divina, years of living in a rough city and seen as a Demon by others from his Flaming Esper abilities, Kurt became cold towards many who talk with him besides his own family, he is very kind and caring towards Celeste, always protecting her when she's in any danger, while he seems scary he is actually a softy, helping lost and ill animals in need and even helps with the elderly, but with thugs and criminals he will be very aggressive and confident, being the toughest kid in his school he is pretty well known in Kiln, but because of his average life he couldn't afford a special Bubble Pack and had to get a cheap 1, his outfit was made with some material trans-mutated by his flames

His Esper power of Fire is actually sentient and will always have to be managed as it will try to take control of him turning him into a Monster, tempting him to do despicable things, but taming his fire he is can summon fire balls or breath fire, because of his affinity to flame he is Fireproof and actually absorbs any flame around him before bursting with flames, doing this will usually blow his top off but he can mend it again rapidly, he can melt nearly anything by touching it, turn things to ash and blast from his hands and feet to boost himself, he can even form a heat shield that will melt anything that comes in contact with him like a bullet, but doing these will drain so much of his Psychic Energy, to make up for this Kurt will mostly channel his flames into shifting the environment or his weapons into different shapes, bearing the burning white flames Kurt is able to melt and shape nearly any material around him, even metal, Kurt can even summon a Flaming Doppelganger who has the same weapon that will mimic his attacks fighting alongside him even doing combination attacks, though he doesn't realize it is the Sentient Entity within him that is taking shape

His weapon of choice is a Special hilt that can bear any blade or any other metal weapons on it, through the years Kurt has modified this to have a Gun compartment, because firing fireballs and breathing fire drains more of his energy he prefers channeling his fire into the mini-cannon and fire a powerful shot that depending how much he was channeling can knock back, blow up or burn into it's target, Kurt can fire this rapidly with weaker shots or charge for a more powerful shot which can leave him vulnerable, but can be combined when her impales an enemy or Twisted, because Kurt uses his fire to shape his blades this can also deteriorate the blade and so when it breaks off Kurt with bring out a special metal ingot to melt and shape into a blade, he can make it extremely large, spiky, long, blunt and even form it into a shield in front of him, while he can use any metal around him to form his blades, the metal he uses is much more stronger and long-lasting
