History: Abandoned at birth in a deeply wooded jungle, Jerik grew up being raised by a group of Apes which found him and nurtured him. The marks on his face were given by the head ape, his adopted father, and were meant to symbolize the power growing within him. At age 5 he exhibited the first signs of his magic power when he accidentally killed a Jaguarex that was terrorizing a group of hunters. He avoided the hunters as best he could using the techniques the apes taught him to help him escape. Fast forward a few years and the Apes eventually teach him to speak, using books taken from a village near their home to help him read and understand basic language. It was at this same time that Gildarts, the Fairy Tail S-Rank Wizard, passed through the same Jungle he inhabited during the beginning of his 100 year Quest to defeat Acnologia. After hearing of a powerful human threatening the ecosystem of their lands, Jerik, now at the age of 11, was sent out with a team of the best hunters in the Ape Family to intercept him. Gildarts, the oblivious one, was accidentally destroying the trees in the jungle with his Crash magic. Using magic learned from Human books, Jerik and the Apes confronted Gildarts...however, they were quickly beaten down by him, only leaving Jerik standing even after being hit countless times with Gildarts magic several times.

Gildarts saw this and was astounded that someone with such low magic could be able to stand up to him. It was at this time that Gildarts decided to stand down and followed Jerik back to his village. Once there, Gildarts appeased Jeriks adopted father at the time and convinced him and jerik to let Jerik train under Gildarts watchful eye. After over 3 years of training under Gildarts, Jerik was eventually adopted by Gildarts and given the last name of Clive, Gildarts own last name, and learned to use a weaker version of Gildarts Crash magic, which he named Crashdown. After learning how to fully speak and control his magic, Gildarts convinced Jerik to leave the Jungle and head to Fairy Tail, which he eagerly does. After arriving, his animalistic senses kicked in and he could smell Gildarts scent on Cana Alberona, making him believe she was in fact his daughter. Makarov happily welcomed the young boy but noticed that his Magic power had grown wildly large due to training with Gildarts unhinged. Thus, Makarov gave Jerik a seal on his left arm to avoid his magic power going berserk. After arriving at Fary Tail, he quickly let Natsu Dragneel know that he was, indeed, Gildarts adopted son. Matching Erza's strength and exceeding it, he quickly KO'd Natsu and formed a bond with Cana, who knew that she was Gildarts daughter from the beginning. Years passed by and, after Tenrou Island, he had taken up the position of Gildarts himself as the lead S-Rank Wizard in his absence. After their return to Glory, Jerik went on routine missions with Cana and Gildarts, sometimes on his own as well and continues it to this day...even after Fairy Tail had been disbanded.
