The last living member of the Tapinoa race, Minato Mushi (which translates to "Harbor bug") is an otherwalk (term humans use to call nonhumans) that lives on The Witch's temple, a smaller island, within Crescent Bay Isand. there he resides with Haruka, his adoptive and immortal witch of a mother, within her temple house.

 Minato has the gift of flight, sporting 2 pairs of retractable,insect-like wings on his back (there are holes in the back of his clothing that allow his wings to come out). He sheds these wings every so often, replacing damaged or worn down wings with brand new ones, and he uses these wings to fly across the bay from the witch's temple to crescent bay island itself. He often makes shopping trips for his mother Haruka, since she is not allowed within the Spiritstar Kingdom on account of being a witch. Despite technically not being a human, Minato's presence is tolerated in the town given his near resemblance to one.

Minato is biologically immortal via the power of star magic. Long ago, before man conquered the island, when the great yokai culling has passed, Haruka found Minato alone as an infant in the ruins of a yokai village. Knowing that this might just be the last remaining Tapinoa in existence, she painstakingly crafted him a massive coin, made from the metals of the cosmos. She welded onto the coin two differing pieces of two shooting stars, their powerful magics combining to create immortality. She bound this coin to Minato's spirit, thereby preserving the last of a culture's past, and granting Minato the gift of immortality. Physically, he is 18, but nobody truly knows his age, as he has most likely lived longer then that.

Minato is known to the islander's as a skilled trickster otherwalk, as he often plays mostly harmless planks on the spiritstar's residence, to the point where he has become part of the island's culture, where stories of his exploits are often told by the islanders, though nobody really worships him as a god, and there aren't any holidays centered on Minato. Despite his tendency to trick and play pranks, Minato himself is sometimes gullible, where people will play pranks on him instead. Minato makes money by maintaining a small pet kiosk, using his expertise as a critter catcher to catch all sorts of small fish, amphibians, insects, and reptiles to sell to both island tourists and to resident islanders. Minato gets most of his fish from both the canals of Poecilia village, and from a secret beach he named after himself. Called Minato's Beach, it is a stretch of sand that is covered in countless tidal pools during low tide, containing a vast variety of reef fish within them. the beach is hidden away, in between a massive cliff face, and behind the Sabal barrier islands.

Often times, Minato is seen wielding a golden bronze ornamented staff. This staff transforms into a magical fish/bug net that has the power to catch anything, no matter how big, and holds whatever it catches inside a pocket dimension of suspended animation until Minato dumps his quarry back out. This is how he defends himself from troublesome people too. All he has to do is catch them in his net, and bring them to the Spiritstar town Guard. Minato's Jacket, green with patterns of golden silk, is not built for the cold. Rather, it is designed to protect Minato from the rain, as Crescent Bay Island has a never ending wet season year round.

Minato is goofy, sometimes acting immature at times. He has animalistic tendencies, a trait all Tapinoa had, which leaves him with a slight social awkwardness and unrefined manners. Despite that, he is often nice to everyone, and tries to always see the best in people. Minato Mushi is Crescent Bay Island personified.

Artists notes: I am pleased with how this has turned out, it took a big long to make but it turned out the way I wanted it to. creating this has taught me not only more about anatomy, but also about shadows, shading, and patterning. I do admit, I did get lazy on making a background, but then again i didn't just want a transparent PNG background Either. Minato Mushi is my first OC ever, and has gone through several revisions since highschool before my upload of this artwork.
