Crescent Bay Island Is one of the Largest islands known in Starrelya (the realm is sometimes also known as Sailestria by humans).It is a Moist, Tropical Rainforest island that also has cloud forests in it's 3 mountain ranges.Most of the island is outlined by steep cliffs overlooking sandy beaches, raising most of the island well over sea level.This acts as a natural barrier that protects the island from pirates and raiding parties that seek to wreak havoc on it's populace. The only easy ways to get onto the island is through one of it's two bays: Constellation Cove, and Crescent bay. Still, its hard for pirates or warring parties to gain a foothold here because the 2 bays are heavily populated, and by consequence, well defended.

The largest village on the island is the Spiritstar Kingdom, which is more like a town than a village. Lead by an emperor within a massive japanese castle in the center of town, Spiritstar lines the entire shore of Crescent Bay, as it is an important transportation hub for ships. Most of the culture and architecture here (as well as on the island itself) is of japanese and tropical beachside influence, with pagodas and beachhouse styled buildings being prevalent. Yokai used to inhabit Crescent Bay Island.However due to a war long ago with the Widowkin, a race of spider people from another land, the Yokai were forced to abandon their home, and humans have taken their place. Most of the inhabitants of Crescent Bay Island is xenophobic towards any other race that looks different than them, and even though the races of most islands within Sailestria are part human and part animal, most of them arent welcome, and are basically second class citizens within Spiritstar. Races that look almost completely human are welcome, though the more animalistic anatomy a person has, the more racism they will experience. The kingdom of Spiritstar classified races in 2 catagories. There is the humankin, species that are almost entirely human in appearance but have slightly different details(such as animal ears, antenna, or a tail for example). These are seen as equals within the town. Then there are whats called "The Otherwalkers" or "otherwalks", these are species that have some human characteristics, but also have more animalistic characteristics than human kin. (for example, races that have human top halves but animal lower halves, which are common within Starrelya) These people are oppressed and ostricized from spiritstar. Otherwalks however, are more tolerated in the 2, smaller villages of Branchwalk and Poecillia, and the emperor allows this as long as they stay out of SpiritStar. Near the Emperor's Castle, are series of barracks and buildings designed to house Spiritstar's land based Military and security force. The Majority of Spiritstar's military however is navy, who are regularly stationed around the island to keep watch for pirates or trespassers. The golden building next to Spiritstar's Castle is called The Hall of Golden Spirits. It is a temple, and museum of sorts commemorating religious themes as well as heroes, mythological figures, and artifacts of the past. The main religion of Crescent Bay Island is Polytheistic, containing many gods.

Poecilia Village is a smaller village consisting mostly of shops and houses near the Constellation cove. It is unique in due to its network of canals that run through the entire village. Most of them are drainage canals that hose a wide variety of freshwater tropical fish such as Guppies, tench, koi, medaka, and plecostomus to name a few. most of the houses are build within real close proximity, to the drainage canals, some houses are even built over them. The reason why is because the crystal clear water of Reticu lake is very clean and drinkable, which influences the layout of Poecilia. In the center of Poecilia is a temple where the leader of the village resides.

Branchwalk village is another village located deep within the rainforests of the Ugiri Mountains.Some of Crescent Bay Island's trees are massive. So massive, that their branches can support the weight of small buildings. This is the case in Branchwalk village. Most of the larger buildings, for example the temple, are on the ground, while the village's many residents have houses built in the trees.

The islands of Constellation cove form a chain of docks, piers, and bridges that connect the islands together. The small islets are home to residents from Poecillia. They are from noble families who have "allegedly" owned the land on the islets for many generations. Many of the docks that connect the islets together are actually bascule bridges powered by magic that allow access to boats. Constellation cove, named after the bioluminescence waves on it's beach at night, also has the Barrier Islands, a group of hilled, forested islands that are unpopulated. It is also bordered by the Barrier Mountains, the smallest mountain range on Crescent Bay Island.

The Witch's Temple is the name of an island in the middle of Crescent Bay. Like the larger island, It too is surrounded by steep cliffs,, the only access being a small stretch of beach nestled in a small bay. The island has a temple thats home to an immortal witch named Haruka, who lives on the island with her adopted son/ helper Minato Mushi. Haruka, due to being a witch, is banned from setting foot in SpiritStar due to the superstition of it's residents, so she usually sends Minato over to buy supplies.

The Fijinatchi springs, apart from the tropical rainfall that the island has, is the primary source of water on Crescent Bay Island. It, along with the many streams that feed into it from the Kita no Kumo mountains, feeds the Fijinatchi river system that webs across the entire island. Because the source is a underground spring, most of the water is crystal clear and safe to drink. The largest lake it feeds into, Diversity Lake, is named so because of it's vast diversity of freshwater fishes.

Minato's Beach is a beach not known by anyone on the island except for Minato Mushi himself. It is riddled with countless large tidal pools, containing their own mini coral reefs, that hold vast variety of rare reef fish. It is here that Minato Mushi catches fish for his business as a pet seller. The many cliffs make the beach hard to access, and the Sabal Islands. a grouping of rainforest islands known for their palm trees, help obscure the view of the beach from boats.

The Canopy Highlands are a group of flat topped, yet jagged mesas in the center of the island. they have several lakes which pour off into waterfalls that feed both the Fijinatchi river as well as other small lakes. The Canopy Highlands are hard to spot because the jungle canopy grows so high, it effectively hides the highlands, which make it look like a bulge of slightly taller trees if one sees it from some ways away from the treetops.

Crescent Bay Island is a green jewel within the oceans of Starrelya, rich in biodiversity and resources, yet guarded heavily by xenophobic humans. It is a major empire within it's local archipelago.

Artists note: This is my first full color map of an island, and my first time drawing a city too!. I learned a lot about how mountains work and texturizing for both the tropical rainforest and the sea as well. I planned on making it more detailed with cliffs throughout the island, however it took too long to make, so I decided it was good enough and upload it as is.
