Soldiers prevent freedom...
We need or own soldiers to protect us from other country's soldiers...
We don't need more weapons... we need more understanding...
We don't need more soldiers...
Because it is those who solves conflicts without violence, the people who offer a helping hand in wartimes... they are the real heros...
I hope that you understand what I mean.
But everyone can't share the same ideas...
Everyone has the right to an oppinion...

If I send the message that the worlds problems can be solved by violence, I think maybe you should re-watch my movie. Yes those who solve conflicts with out blood are heros. But in this specific case Sadam is running circles around UN weapon inspectors thumbing his nose at the UN in general. How long are we supose to put up with that before we eventually say enough, we can only be diplomatic for so long against someone who only understands force.

Sounds like you fully support a kind of Machiavellian political view... fuck molarity, power (military) makes and maintains and forces our morality on the unwilling world.

The military is just a puppet of the bureaucracy, but you make them out to be some kind of altruistic force out to save the world. Get real, most of them couldn't care less, they're in the military b/c they needed money for college, had no other options, or have some sick romanticized view of military power.

Extraordinary people have always had to fight and die for their beliefs, to bring change. It's pathetic how you idolize something that is nothing more than a neccessary evil in a violent immature world, and credit it with our country's great (but fading) accomplishments. Just remember, if the gov't ever decided to ban every right you mentioned, it would be the soldier pointing a gun in your face enforcing that repression.

I understand your frustration. Few americans appriciate what they have, or know what it takes to preserve it. But your equating military power and freedom is dangerously naive. You should learn to appreciate irony of america's strength - the dissent of it citizens.

A well thought out an clearly stated argument. I apreciate such views from the left, at least the ones that don't scream blood for oil. As far as my views go, I'm fairly Liberatarian, I want freedom to the fullest extent. When you say I equate freedom with military power, that statement is somewhat misconstrude. I don't see whats wrong with the idea that if we do not protect ourself (or deal with those actively trying to hurt us)that we can not enjoy the freedoms we as americans have.

A good sign for us all

Yes, I agree the soldiers help us in many way, but you have to know, not only the soldiers, the reporters risk their life to give us the important things happenduring the war, the doctors also help those who are injured while risking their life on the battlefield to save lifes, thousand of lifes that almost got killed by the terrorists n' somewhat, a few numbers of immoral n' cruel soldiers...
