Reviews for "Rum & Gun DEMO"

Much improved, thanks... but still lacking. Watching booty disappear as unable to retrieve while in battle is a fail, have collected weapons and not been able to use them (bombs), and a full screen option would be nice. Also, fiddle doesn't appear to heal me mateys, which sucks because opposition forces (be they other pirates or ugly creatures) come waaay too fast and thick for solo fighting.

Borington responds:

Hi! Happy to report that your issue with the controls has been/should be fixed. Please let me know if it's still happening.
I suppose you couldn't collect rum because your bottle was full. You'll need to upgrade the capacity with perks.
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Edit: 1. couldn't use collected weapons? That sounds really strange. You should be able to change with mouse wheel or numbers. If you have the ammo for it, that is. 2. I'll add the full screen option today. 3. Fiddle only heals and attracts items if you have rum. That might have been the issue. 4. Thanks again for the feedback.
Edit 2: Full screen option has been added

I found this game somewhat interesting at first, but it didn't really keep my interest. It just felt way too repetitive after a while, and I got bored and I didn't know if it would get more interesting after a while, so I stopped. It was just a lot of the same run-and-shoot gameplay, which wasn't interesting to me.

I do have a few comments about the gameplay. My favorite part was the rum mechanic and the associated perks. I think I would have liked to see perks gotten a little more frequently. I agree with the suggestion that there shouldn't be permadeath for followers. I lost my follower at the start because I didn't know what I was doing, and then I had no follower for the rest of the time I played. Also, I thought weapon switching was a bit clumsy, I was ofter confused by what I switched to, maybe that could be improved.

not bad but not great. still had fun hackin, slashin, blasting, and drinking.

Borington responds:

Thanks! Any ideas on how to improve it?

music is good

interesting and clearly a high effort, high quality project. but christ i hated the controls so much. and the mobility just felt... really bad.

Borington responds:

Hi! Could you iterate on that please? I tried to use a basic top-down shooter control setup. Was movement too slow? Did WASD or mouse aiming not work as intended?
Sorry for the inconvenience.
