Reviews for "The Dark Harvest - Episode 1"

It's okay.

Animation is good, but the story is too vague to really be fun. I can get what's happening on a basic level, but there's no "why". Why does she keep a scythe in her room in the open if she knows nothing of hunting ghosts? Why did the ghost kill himself? How is the scythe able to reap spirits? What organization is the grandpa part of? Why can the ghost phase through walls but acts solid against humans?

You see, it's fine to bring these questions up, seeing this is a pilot, but there's too many basic questions that don't get a proper answer, and, I'm sorry, you're gonna need to make things a bit more clear to hold me.

Only other complaint is that the protagonist was maybe a bit too dense. It was kind of ridiculous, but wasn't funny.

Good work, but still...

Slow, Lots of talking about nothing, Reactions dull and lack emotion. I felt little to no connection.
Animation is ok but the movement feels stiff.
The voice acting is good but the script really needs some work.

Maybe work on bigger reactions and faster movements.
Over all this Cartoon did not have me wanting more.

damn, so much effort in the animation for such unlikable characters and boring plot.
That girl sure asks a lot of questions, not very charismatic. But she doesn't ask the right questions like why the hell did she have to kill that perfectly harmless ghost? Or why the old guy doesn't do any of his own dirty work? Or why he didn't brief her properly for this mission?
she is obviously not ready or mentally prepared for this in the slightest.

this would ve been 10 times better if the old guy would ve just shown her by killing the first ghost himself and then she can do the next one. that dialogue where he is telling her how to use the scythe was painful to listen to.

I guess we ll find out more in the next episodes, but I don't see how any of this could possibly make sense in the end.

is all this incompetence on display for comedic value? I didn't find it funny. all we had was uninteresting conversations between the two annoying main characters. if they had talked to the ghost it might ve been more interesting. then we could ve learned about the interesting concepts of why the ghost has to be killed instead of focusing on the boring details like: it's Halloween so they blend in, or what they told the guy at the door to get in, or how to hold a weapon or how the girl is unapologetically too noisy to use the element of surprise, even after she was shushed once. is it teenage rebellion? but then she immediately goes and does the old guys bidding without questioning the morals.

If the ghosts only come out on Halloween why would you even have to kill them? they only get one day a year. unless they are ever present then why is this Halloween so busy for the ghosthunter. apparently not that busy if he thinks the girl can handle it haphazardly.

Id like to see more of this ☺😁 great Episode!

good animation but the story is pretty boring
