Reviews for "Qaz's Quest 2: Castle of Darkness"

I am utterly in love with this game. So much thought and effort went into it and it was thoroughly enjoyable! I was going to rate it five after the first stage but it continued to wow me. I could gush for a while about the excellent use of animation (including secondary animations), use of cinematography, suspense building, story-telling, characters - not to mention brilliant and varied gameplay. I appreciate that while there was a health system, there was no lives system and dying meant a short backtrack not a hg one.

My only contentions are 1) I encountered a bug with Malikai where he froze in his first damage animation. Fortunately, I killed myself on his orbs and could just restart the boss fight. 2) The movement is a little sluggish and made the last boss less reactive and more memorisation. 3) The navigation - especially early on with the side stairs - was a tad finicky. Also, the artwork, while not spectacular was polished enough to not cause resentment.

I'm going to search out the first chapter and look forward to the next one! Thanks Slyck!

Very interesting game, and very precise and measured puzzles. The fight with the bosses is very good, it is difficult to avoid the attacks of the last boss, but he is the last and it is logical that he be the most difficult. Honestly, I really enjoyed playing this game

Thanks for the positive feedback!

sweet mother of Link. Cross-eyed Qaz is awesome. I kept expecting the kid in the bed to be secretly evil. That would have been SCHWEET.

;) MOARRRR. god it just burns me up that I can't make games yet. GRRRR. you rock man. you rocked this shit so hard.

Slyck responds:

Hey, thanks! Yea, gotta be on the lookout for those evil kids!
And why can't you make games yet? The internet is your oyster!

You did a stellar job with this. Fun puzzles, great variety of challenges, and you really took the player to a lot of different locales and made sure to mix things up. Fantastic work.

Slyck responds:

Hey, thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!

Finally! This game has been 10 years in the making!
