Reviews for "Qaz's Quest 2: Castle of Darkness"

Kept dying to the bouncy balls of death...
Otherwise, good game.

Don’t rush though the game so fast when playing there’s other things to explore like choosing the wrong coffin and see what happens, I tried crossing the chain rope and keep falling off, failure and rage can still be enjoyable. Determination!

Slyck responds:

Indeed...very true, just don't rage too hard, lol

Graphics could be improved, but the battling and sound effects were pretty good. It was an easy game on the whole, I'm usually terrible at ARPGs but managed to beat all the bosses without much difficulty. Good for a casual experience if you have around an hour's time to kill.

It's been so long since the first game created a name for itself, and 12 years later the promised sequel rears its head. Slyck, you did a great job not only with this game, but handling the fanbase of people who wanted this game so badly, so overall, wonderful.

Slyck responds:

Glad I could finally give you and everyone else the game you'd been waiting for for so long! Thanks for playing and keeping the faith through all those years!

I love the game, I really do. However, I feel like it's somewhat lacking in danger up until the bosses. Everything was fairly simple, even the cloaked man's first form, but the difficulty level spiked unbelievably with the final (?) boss/second form. I feel that giving us something to fight before this would've made it a little more understandable, but there were no battles so intense until that one. All the battles before were incredibly predictable and had a clear, concise rhythm that made them easy to defeat once recognized. This one, however, has too many moves that need frame-perfect dodging. The fists are a perfect example of this. When combined with the bouncing red balls that can damage you endlessly because of the lack of invincibility frames and that lasers that corner you, that fight is all about winning based on luck. It's hardly fair at all, in my opinion.
