Reviews for "Tattle & Tale"

The music and the artwork are spot on, but the walking speed is too slow to begin with, and whatever complicated things you are doing with data in the main thread are making the game unbearably laggy in Frozen Falls. You should consider a loading screen to pre-calculate at least some of the stuff, and up the walking speed by a large factor.

I like this game. Here's why

The writing in this game is very humorous and charming. And I like writing like that. It's got a very simple story but the prologue is written in a way that makes it kind of entertaining.

The presentation in this game is good, but nothing special, I like the lighting effects and the backgrounds, but it's nothing groundbreaking.

The gameplay is very much like a "What if Banjo-Kazooie met Duck Tales on the NES", with it's on twists and kicks. It's very fun, and I had a good time.

I had two major problems though, that most will agree with. First off, The main character's walking speed is WAAAAYYY too slow. he needs to be much faster. Especially for the next thing I don't like at all.

I hate HATE HAAATE the challenge in Hollow Cavern. Why? You're sooooo slow! It's way too hard to get to any rocks that are too far away. It's not hard because it's challenging, it's hard because it's unfair, and that's a problem with the game as a whole. I haven't finished the game yet, because I can't get past the Challenge I mentioned earlier, but as I said, you need to speed up the walking speed, or tweak the design of the Challenge so it fits the slow walking speed.

I also will bring to mind the reasons the Challenge is unfair. If you want to say, "Kai, just use the spin, it's faster." Yes, but it sacrifices mobility, the ending lag on it is extremely unreliable and you'll end up missing rocks because the Spin took too long to end. Speaking of lag, the Butt Bounce has too much of it. The starting lag on the butt bounce can fuck itself right to hell on this challenge. Yet again, you'll end up missing rocks because the Butt Bounce took too long to well, bounce. The challenge itself is poorly designed too, as the rocks are completely determined by RNG, in terms of their positioning, AND their value. This means that whether or not you win is determined ENTIRELY by RNG. Which isn't a very reliable source to begin with.

Overall, 3.5/5, I like the Game itself, but I have to take points off for the mobility and the Challenge.

Sweet!

I don't know about the others but I really enjoyed this game. The artwork really compliments the simplistic nature of the story and gameplay.I had a weird issue specifically with the snow level. The game ran pretty smoothly except for that level where I would get a weird frame drop and everything moved a lot slower than usual.

Keep up the good work and I'm eager to see your next projects

The character moving so slow made the butt-bashing rocks part impossible for me.
Other than that, I really enjoyed this.
I like the visual style.
I love the music. Great job putting that together.
Love the whole Spyro type 'collect X amount of gems to open this world".

Good game, but there is a missing spider on the 3rd level.
