Reviews for "Specter Knight"

I like the game, but the 3rd boss is bugged. It just keeps walking and blocking and that is it.

Go left and right at the same time for tap dance

Timing is everything... unless you focus on magic. In which case you start every room with Rain Fire and Hail Storm, then mop up what's left with Earth Drop and Earth Engulf. Keep Fireball and Ice Shard on your hotbar for anything that rushes you. You don't even have to move around.

I didn't like the Earth Summon spell though. With it's ridiculously huge cooldown, I could only use it once like every 4-5 rooms. Unfortunately, even when I did use it, it was nearly useless. The zombie moves so slowly to engage an enemy that I ended up killing most stuff before he clashed with it, and the few things I let him fight around level 10-12 were way stronger than him. At best, he's an inefficient meatshield.

The light beam seemed a little weak to me. The only way to really use its multi hit was to put yourself in danger by gathering a crowd of enemies and launching it into them... but it did so little damage that doing this meant that you'd have a crowd of angry enemies right up in your face. I suggest buffing its damage, removing the double damage chance from it, and increasing the projectile speed so that it can reliably chain to the next enemy before they move out of its path. Then you could use it to initiate fights and lure 2-3 to you at a time.

I didn't enjoy the melee combat. It seemed clunky, frustrating, and nearly useless against the first boss... which, considering the mechanics of the boss fights, I feel confident saying that I wouldn't have liked it in the last 3 fights either. I suggest making it so that the attack had its own separate button, because if you focus on spells like I did, stopping to melee an enemy that you got too close to can cause quite a bit of trouble if you're being chased by something else.

Also, at what level does the magic skill cap out at? I made it to 20 before I realized my spells weren't gaining any more damage. Once I realized that, I just pumped up my health stat, just in case I did take the occasional hit.

Finally, can you make the tooltips a little more detailed in future games? I like to know exactly what I'm buying when I'm trying to make comparisons. Just add things like damage, number of projectiles launched, and % increases for drops and procs below the description and it'll be excellent.

good fun, honestly enjoyed the fact u didnt go too hard core into making the game hard to break. might want to try and do something about the cast time block, maybe global var; atm you can legit just hit all the spell keys at once and it will cast them all simultaneously which is how i beat the game in 2 hours

At first I was confused on how to attack.
Movement should be faster, at least once all the enemies in the room are dead.
It seems weird that i can move faster than the projectiles, so maybe the projectiles should be a bit faster.

The tips from the stone are way too common sense.

The game seems too easy, yet too grind-y
