Reviews for "Kill the Rabbit"

Increasingly annoying level design, not being able to even jump to the next step without a life reducing lunge. If you slip up even a little bit, you won't be able to get to the end of the level. It just becomes a pain in the ass, not worth finishing the game.

trixelbit responds:

Dude, the game is about taking your time, and making sure every jump counts. That attack-lunge makes you careful about how you use it. The levels get more annoying because they require you to take your time and plan out how you to get across. That mechanic has metaphorical value to it, too. In the end of the day, I respect your opinion. Just not sure you're taking the game for what it actually is.

I don't want to spoil anything, but this seems to be one of those games where you can't win. :(

I mean, the endings were kind of... yeah.

The game itself was kind of "meh" too.

Erm... sorry. :( Just giving my honest opinion.

trixelbit responds:

I'm fine with opinions, man. But can you kinda justify it a bit more by making more of a case to it than just, "meh". I can't learn what to do better with "meh". Not trying to be act salty. Just want an elaboration is all. :)

cruel game

trixelbit responds:

Could you actually be constructive with your review instead of just posting two words and no stars. Opinions are fine but when you give no justification or reason behind it, then it's just really irritating. You completely disregard the work and any value it has.

Essentially unplayable due to bugs. Perhaps the bugs are specific to my browser configuration etc (Windows 8.1, IE11). I get no sound but according to other reviews, there is meant to be sound, for instance.

Lunge attack does not seem to work when facing left - is this a bug? It is a really weird game mechanic if it is deliberate. and would deserve having a warning in the controls if this is the case.

The "don't kill black rabbits" level refuses to progress, and just restarts, if you eat the rabbits in an unexpected order. Eating the left ones, then the right ones, then finishing off the ones in the middle is a perfectly feasible way to complete the level.

Even when I can get lunge attack to work its effects seem very unpredictable and difficult to control. I also found that "double jump" doesn't always seem to work. The character is very "skiddy" on platforms, particularly when lunging, and this makes pixel-perfect control impossible to achieve.

I quite like the theory of the game mechanic - using "super-movement" sparingly to navigate the harder aspects of a level. It's just that this game's controls do not flow at all, whether moving normally or using your extra boost.
