Reviews for "Fridge Runner"

There seems to be some sort of crazy lag or...a lot of times I'll move somewhere and then just get stuck for several seconds. I can't figure out what the deal is. Too bad, because I kinda like the 'fridge' aesthetic...

TerribleDesign responds:

I'm glad that you like the aesthetic! Getting the lighting right on that fridge picture took way longer than it should have. I am no photographer! That means a lot to me. :)

As for the lag, is it only when you are touching walls? Holding an arrow key towards a wall while touching it will cause your magnet to stick to it. Clause it's a magnet.

As far as I can tell, the game freezing is not common. Stencyl uses Box 2D, so if you have issues running Box 2D games on your computer, this could be the cause. If the Moving red mold stutters, then it is a Box 2D issue for sure. I get minor stuttering during online play, but none during offline testing.

Sadly, I had to cut a few gameplay features that caused Box 2D to stutter more. Let's just say that bacon dominoes and sandwich stacking were going to be a thing. BACON DOMINOES.

how im supposed to cheat?'

TerribleDesign responds:

It's a puzzle! A social puzzle!
Why not politely ASK someone who has used the cheat how it works? That is an option. :)
Just check under the proper medal, and then shoot them a PM. There are two other people aside from me, and they were not original play testers of the game, so they figured it out all by themselves.

I will say that using the cheat is a two step process. It is also a reference to what people tend to do when they are totally stuck in one of my previous games.

An interesting game, but the same issue as for Badgirlqc, the medals don't seem to work perfectly. I just got the first steps medal, but before:
1) Was playing 100% logged in, since I have "never log off" turned on;
2) Was connected;
3) Playing without ad-block and for example the Welcome medal did not unlock, and it should rather be earned before first steps.
I hope the further ones will work just fine, because it is an interesting thing to play.

TerribleDesign responds:

Hmm... None of my other games have this medal issue. I played a few of the other Stencyljam games, and it seems that they are having medal issues as well. This is looking like a Stencyl specific problem. I had no issue while I was play testing. Yes, "Welcome!" should be the first medal gotten. Really odd that it works for some and not others...

I will look into it, and if I find a solution, I will be sure to update it! As the save file will be the same, when you turn the game on, your times played variable will be the same and thus unlock the medals. :)

The game play for the most part is solid but there is a weird bug...when you hold the arrow key to move the box in the direction you want to move and you hold the jump button at the same time you sometimes get stuck to the wall...i couldnt really explain this any better but i hope you understand what i was trying to say...that was the only thing i could find wrong with the game, well done!!

TerribleDesign responds:

You can stick to the wall because you are a pink refrigerator magnet. That is a technique you will need to use in later levels. Level 7 is the first time using this technique is mandatory. The first level is purposefully designed so that most players will stick to the third hurdle just before the cheese.

nice game medals don't work :/

TerribleDesign responds:

They are working on my end. You can click the medals beneath the game to see who has unlocked them too. Were you logged in? If you play the game again when logged in, then beat a level the game will automatically unlock all medals on your save file again. As I don't see "BADGIRLQC" under the "Welcome!" achievement, I can only assume that you weren't logged in.

I hope that you enjoyed the game despite this snafu.
