Reviews for "Bunker Down 2030"

Well that was a little easy. I didnt game over at all.
All you have to do is to keep up A LOT on food and mecanics. weapons, a little less important and if you do a lot of good choices your morale will never run out

I really enjoyed this game, was fun having to choose what to supply. My only issue was for certain weeks. like one of the weeks "Everyone was bored so they decided to shoot at nothingness". Why are they wasting their ammo when they know how bad it is outside? That I didn't understand. And some other ones, I didn't understand either.

Not a bad game; very simple concept and simple gameplay. I like the idea of an apocalypse survival setting, maintaining food, morale, ammo, and the works, literally. I feel that the game was set for failure- you would not be able to ever reset your stats back to full or max everything before something goes terribly wrong. Maybe that's the point, but if you weren't on top of your stuff every week trying to maintain what you can, you'd end up losing quickly.

A lot of choices were given for the 30 week span and a few of them feel like they could have been avoided without negatives, such as scaring off the people demanding food. Heck, now that I think about it, you're in a bunker on a hill overlooking stuff. Not many people would think that there's people down there (based on the ending).

Overall, it was a very neat idea and well put together for what appears to have been a contest or something of the likes based off the description.

And should Rupert0ne be reading this review, I pose a few questions for you to think about:
1) The game is about survival, as it has been stated. If it makes references to the Game of Thrones once at the end with a joke, then why are you immediately placing Kober as a GoT freak? It was a one time thing.
2) If each week or most of them actually WERE referencing it (I've not seen it ever), then how did you know about it so easily? Would that make you one as well? Should that be true then maybe you might wish to add yourself to that supposed group of "freaks".
3) Stating the creator has no right to make a game based solely on either a joke at the end, or possibly what I stated in question 2 is irrelevant. The fact that you call the creator a "n00b" at the end TWICE is childish, at best. Just how old are you, exactly? Should you be under the age of 15, I have a couple of people online who might like to talk to you and do video chat.

KoberGirl responds:

I think RupertOne's review must have been removed because I didn't see it. Assuming it was horrible, I thank you for a thoughtful rebuttal. This is my first submission to Newgrounds. I was a bit hesitant honestly because Newgrounds has a reputation for not having the most accepting and tolerant commentators in the indie scene. The 13 year old mentality and use of "fag" and woman hating trash talk was something I was dreading. But the only way to make the community better is to have better people join up. Thank you PsychoTess for being a better person!

P.S. Yeah I like Game of Thrones...read the books too, but the jokes slipped in there cause the season finale was the day I needed to submit the game. Not a freak but a fan. ;)

And while I am a "n00b" when it comes to learning to program my own games. I have actually been in the game industry for many years. I think its fun trying to make something completely on my own which is why joined the game jam to make this.

Thanks Again!

i agree with some of the comments below, the messages and very high demands on resources are a bit problematic and tricky. are the events just random? i thought it was a clever idea with the division of labour and meeting the various demands/needs. i would have liked to see a more efficient way to produce resources, but i did find it ended (even though i lost) at a reasonable point where it wasnt like i had wasted my time on it being too hard or easy. its a nice simulator and its a neat idea and i would really like to see more of this :)

KoberGirl responds:

Thanks. I learned a lot making this and hope to work on more complex gameplay in the future.

hmm it doesn't work for me after i assign my first squad they disappear and the instruction tells me how much days food rations give me and then i can't do anything else
