Reviews for "Painters Guild (Alpha)"

Interesting game, but not enough variety to keep the game interesting after a while. The ever increasing guild fee seems rather harsh without a clear explaination why. After a while Da Vinci gets arrested for sodomi, but at that point he is living alone. The whole story should be told more by actual game mechanisms instead of just texts. (I don't mean that the game should actually portray sodomi, but there should at least be someone living with Da Vinci). I don't get involved in Da Vinci's life at all, and there shoul be more background to the paintings as well. The game does have potential though. I do like the art and the idea of telling painters' story's.

its ok needs a hiring system and property expansion option but,has potential so 3 stars

This game was great but suffered from some MAJOR design flaws. It was really fun getting to switch between painters and juggle their rest/skill/painting needs but a third and maybe even fourth needs to get thrown into the mix at some point. Two painters? That's not a guild, that's a duo.

Second, Verrocchio LEAVES THE GUILD WHEN LEONARDO GETS BETTER? That totally ruins the game. It turns the game into just waiting for Leonardo to finish one thing after the other.

And then after all that fucking hard work Leonardo bumfucks a dude and I get a game over. Is this a joke?

The rent got stupid high after a while. What's the point of having shit to buy if you're too busy paying out the ass for rent? And don't say "git gud" cuz I hit legitimately EVERY painting and I was still struggling for cash. I bought a couch once and I was lucky to have gotten it.

You also need to be able to upgrade the house. More room would be great.

Great game just needs a few more things sorted out!

2.5 for the idea, everything else was poorly executed, from the music loop, to the pace of the game, the broken or just plain repetitive mechanic
i mean come on i know its alpha, but i've played games like hotel tycoon and stuff, and they let you build floors and hire people, i know you wanted to do something historically accurate, but then the game is just about dragging and not thinking too much

I liked the concept, but I didn't like dragging or that there was only 2 people, the requests came too fast and if it was just click to assign I would have gotten more into it.
