Seems I just got done yelling at someone else
First of all, let's have everyone understand something: a reduction in privacy is not the same as a throwing-away of due process. In America, you still get a very public trial, and if the charges seem the least bit bogus, chances are the case against you will be tossed out of court. No taxpayer wants to hear about increased taxes for nonsense federal investigations. As far as the reduction in privacy business, I almost feel like saying "tough shit". Every day, I hear some white supremacist or black separatist bellyaching because their hate rhetoric draws attention. I don't believe in white supremacy. I don't believe in black separatism. I don't believe in any lunatic fringe which seeks to exacerbate indignation rather than allay hostilities. There is a difference between what you see on Newgrounds and what you see on any bash-Israel site. Are Isrealites a wealthy people? By in large, yes - but tearing down the Israel nation will never put bread on the dinner tables of Liberia, nor will it feed disenfranchised Appalachian children in W. Virginia. As far as Iraq goes, I'm just hoping for the best - in other words, I hope there is no invasion. As far as other oddities, such as the legalization of marijuana, that's only going to come about if people suddenly start being more honest about their indulgence - and I simply do NOT see that happening. In other words, if you get busted by a judge for distributing your weed, chances are the son or daughter (or wife) of that judge may have smoked a blunt or two from your stash - BUT, if taxpayers still like the idea of shelling-out between 40 and 100 grand a year per incarcerated drug offender, well, looks like your ass is going to jail. And, if they feel like confiscating all your homegrown, and, the following year, legalizing it and selling it for double markup - hey, you just lost the business opportunity of a lifetime - but again, I say "tough shit". If you were doing something like putting yourself through med school it would be different. But you're not. You're selling dope to kids.
