Reviews for "Seven Jumps"

Stopped being fun by the final level. None of the platforms move in a predictable enough pattern to make progress possible at a reasonable rate. The enemy placement also makes the very indie mistake of assuming that choking the player with obstacles makes for a reasonable challenge. Its incredibly frustrating to start making progress finally, only to end up back at the bottom in a few seconds because of one mistimed jump or getting constantly hit by enemies.

This has the makings of a nice fun and tense puzzle platformer, so its kind of a shame that it went for a few levels with very forced difficulty instead of fleshing things out better.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe if you lowered the idle time after a hit, the game wouldn't be as frustrating. I found myself dropping 4 levels during that idle time.

Ill give you props for the original art and music and stuff.

However, I don't like the game. I'd barely call it one. I admit I haven't gotten past level 2, but that's because I became very irritated at how the game works.

To summarize my thoughts: you took classic Mario and made it clunky and awful.

While I'm okay with (from what I've seen) "not being able to die", I'd much rather die and have more things to do. It's annoying to be stuck for a second each time I press the jump key and don't go higher or am hit by something.

Then, there's the strange moving floors... they give the illusion of the floor moving rather than holes randomly appearing. I'm going to assume this is the case, or jump man would be dragged to all sides of the screen.

While I do like the smoothness of the game and whatnot, I do question how this simple game is 5 MB. It just seems so unoptimized.

Game is 5 mb because every level has it's own little musical theme :)

Incredibly frustrating. After Level 2 I was hoping for something a little harder. Level 3 was Ninja Gaiden hard.

I keep pressing up arrow to start but the guy just hits his head or something. Too bad, I was kinda looking forward to playing this.

ax23w4 responds:

You lost! Lol
