It's Pretty cool, but there's something that is bugging me, in the trade section I sell 100 pieces of wood and only get 10 silver in return, I don't know if that's the point or if it's just a bug.
i've been waiting a lot for this game, but it takes sooo long to actually get anything, plus thera are so many things, and so many pretty much useless stuff that i get confused sometimes
An entire game devoted to TL&DR.
I tried. I really did. My attention span couldn't do it. Can I have a 'fast mode'? A speed slider? Something to give me a sense of accomplishment during a lunch break?
I remembered playing Guild Dungeons 1 and I must say this one is as pleasing.
First off, here are the good notes:
- Looks better than the last or rather I love how the interface and the art improved from the previous game. Still has that art style you are known for.
- I love how the feedback from the questing gives me hints. Also, the after quest reports are colorful. That is to say that I really like getting my troops killed. Does that make me a bad person? :)
- I have an assistant...A living, animate assistant.
- The leaders and the fact they help with quests.
Second, I would like to list down some of the clunks that I think would improve future renditions of Guild Dungeons:
- Lumber. Ahh, the only resource that still boggles me.
- Some typos noticed and I am lazy to point them out. >.>
- Troop management, I find it tiresome to manually choose units sent on quests by clicking on their name and approving them by clicking another button. I think streamlining this somewhat would do the trick.
- Build Structures interface, I have noticed that there is this empty box in the right side of the window. Perhaps this might be space for a flavor art update or some such, but I feel like I need to point it out.
- I find the font somewhat small. For smaller resolutions it works but to those like me that use larger resolutions, is there anyway to have a zoom or enlarge button for the game?
- I also find the GUI kind of cramped.
- The resource requirements of buildings and troops. I find it confusing a bit. I often mistake the resources needed and when I click to purchase the game would warn be if I lack resources. Is there a way to have a visual cue for missing resources needed to purchase buildings and units?
- The assistant, Is there any way you could give the player the ability to choose a different assistant? Other than that, is there anything else it can do other than list the significance of a new turn? Because I feel its potential wasted and I think it can do much more.
- Is there anyway one could find hints to Smithing recipes? There are many ingredients and its hard to come up with some items due to the requirements of 5 ingredient combinations. Like recipes taken from more quests or random actions done when managing the city.
Even though my review has more bad than good. I think of it as things I pointed out that need to be addressed. But it IS a good game and that I have a way with sim type games. And it is good to see a remake of a previous game to showcase your improvement as a developer and artist. So good job, you make a good game.
