Reviews for "Guild Dungeons 2"

I haven't even played it but if it's anything like the first one and it can save, it's already earned the 5 stars in my opinion.

gonna play it now!!!!!

There are some minor issues with the game, the resources that have to be mined can only be mined in reallysmall quantities, you will have to keep buying them, and lots of them. This may be intentional, but it feels a bit weird. Furthermore it would be really helpful to have your smithing recipes stored somewhere. I got one (something about mycelium, the feather and the tooth) and I just clicked it away, before noting that hey, I can use these recipes, like right now. It's not the simplest game ever, we can use all the help we can get (or at least I can). But the game really is addicting, and pretty cool to play.

Hyptosis responds:

Yeah, I was hoping to increase the value of specific quests. Like raiding a lumber mill offer extra wood, raiding a mine gives more minerals, etc. It's a tough thing to balance though.

The game itself is good if you figure out some of it but some of the building cost way too much for what they give back unless you play for about 4+ hours. Some buildings are virtually worthless and some cost so much its not worth building them.

Also the random events are ok but i had a massive riot about 15 minutes into the game after the rich ppl wanted me to build a coin house but i couldnt afford one and it crippled me so badly i restarted the game. Also the resources come in so slowly that i literally have to watch tv for 2-3 hours to even get the game to where it is worth playing. Also some of the units are completely brain dead as sending 1000+ conscripts with about 1500 scrappers should be able to handle a difficulty 4 mission when i have about half of the research done in the game, but even with the mass of stuff they had with them and what i though to be a good leader i found out that a bunch of bandits (likely 20-30 at most in reality) kicked the ass off of the 2500 man army which makes no sense to me. I believe that the missions are bugged somehow, but hey logic doesnt seem to work in this game anyway.

Please in the next one add a TURBO BUTTON as this game is exciting as watching paint dry. Its like "in 10 minutes we can add another coat"

A potential bug I have found: When I send troops out on quests, it shows that one potential class are "Rouge Boggins", yet on my 'train soldiers' tab they do not show up to be trained.

Now, onto why I only gave you 3 and a half stars: balance issues. Resource buildings (i.e. tin mines, silver mines, wheat fields, etc.) give cost FAR to many resources for FAR to little a gain. Sometimes even future buildings will even wipe out you resource gains completely (tin mines measly 1 gain disappears when you make a smelter as it produces bronze from your tin). A simple thing to fix for this is to bump up the buildings gains... silver mine gives 50 silver, tin mine and other mines give 10 or 15 of those resources, etc, etc, etc. The game will still be challenging if you do this, plus with the added benefit of not feeling like I am wasting hours just for a handful of crummy resources.

As for the complaints you get about people quest battles and losing conscripts, henchmen, etc, that's something I am not going to raise an issue about. Each class has different skills that affect the AI and thus their chances in combat (conscripts have NO skills but many other classes do that come with bonuses to increase their survival rate). Plus, having the right leader whose skills compliment both who is sent into battle and white kind of environment they are questing in will affect the outcome, so again folks stop complaining about this.

That said, I think you need to either increase the amount of 'research' items (once unlocked after building the various buildings needed, of course) we can take into individual quests. I don't mind taking just 10 to start with, but maybe give us the chance to increase that number (spending resources, finding relics, whatever) till we can carry ALL the research items. Will that make quests easier... yup, but again if you have to spend TONS of resources for it/found EVERY relic then you've earned the right to do so.

That brings me up to my last point of contention.... relics. What is the point of them other than looking pretty? Perhaps you can make them give random bonuses befitting of whatever it is you locate (anvil for example cuts down on resource costs for research items, lightening rod increases by a percentage mana gain after building a shrine, etc). You can make their random find in a quest a higher chance to compensate.

All in all, I think it is an decent addictive game but the flaws that I mentioned keep it from being a GREAT addictive game. Hopefully you will take what I said into consideration. Till later though, later bro.

Look, I love it, and peeps need to realize that you aren't supposed to beat it at once. The problem is that I agree with that, and sorry Hyptosis to ruin the feel you've cultivated, one of helplessness, but...
What I do is I say yes to the Twitter thing, because I already follow Hyptosis, and then buy 10 tin and 10 iron, and make a lumber mill. go from there. Anyway, I need to know Hyptosis, how do I save?! I can't ever beat the game, because I can't save.

The game is good, and if you don't understand, you should try to learn all you can. I love the in depth quest follow ups, you know, the "Here's what happened." The problem I see is that 200 conscripts loose a level 4 quest, and soldiers who are one rank up win. I've come to the conclusion that soldiers fight one at a time, and if you have 100 bad soldiers, it just takes 100 deaths to loose. The requirements to smith and research are high, and I like that, because it makes the game much longer, and serious.

In conclusion, great game, but it you please just tell me and others how to save my game, then I'd give you those 10 extra stars the game deserves, regardless of the fact that I can only give one
more right now.
