Reviews for "Owl (Book One)"

A masterpiece.

It is rare to find on Newgrounds any flash that I can give a 10 to without hesitation. Whether it be a game, music video, or elsewise, there's always /something/ that keeps it away from such designation. This is an exception. The story is well written, in an intelligent way much like many other creation myths. The graphics add to the feeling and mood of the story, instead of trying to overpower it. Moving between pages is simple, as it should be. In all, this is a marvelous story, and I encourage it to anyone. The only thing I can find even minor complaint with, is that I will have to wait for the next installation. n_n

Virgilcomic responds:

Thanks. I've written out most of it, so the wait shouldn't be too too long.

Reminds me of Watership Down

This is something that obviously took a great deal of time and talent to make. Even a crass fan of typical Newgrounds fare (like myself) will get sucked in to this beautiful story. Instead of thinking that the author is cool for making a demented bit of Flash, you will be thankful that the author has shared their work with us. I can't wait for book two. When reading Owl, I got the same feeling that came with the first time I read Watership Down, and those are tough shoes to fill.

Virgilcomic responds:

I love Watership Down. I wouldn't dream of comparing this, but thanks.

Beautiful, Innovative, Amazing

The art was spectacular - I have yet to see better drawing ability on Newgrounds. The concept was new and fresh. And the writing, the story was just beautiful. This is an incredible work of art, and I look forward to more.

As an aside, with writing and illustrations of this callibre, I can almost guarantee that you can sell this as a children's book. Look into getting this thing published.

Virgilcomic responds:

Thanks for the regards, Randolph.

well givin it's length and small page #'s

it wuz pretty good. oh yea next time u do one of these catch alll thos typos :)

Virgilcomic responds:

Typos? Where? Where? Grammar had never been my thing, so I wouldn't doubt if there were more than a few run-on sentences and incorrect placements of commas, but typos? I'll have another run over of it. And feel free to email me. :-p

Very nice

The writing is excellent, although you could do to proofread a bit more to catch typos. ^_^ The page numbers were also a bit too small. But very nice overall, despite its length.
